I have problems with ear wax myself. I've never done drops, but I probably should. I've had some dramatic-looking stuff removed in the doctor's office. One thing I do is tilt my head in the shower so the warm water goes right in and hold that position for maybe half a minute. I think someone told me to try that once, and it does seem to help.
