It's just all. the. time. That's what has prompted the angst/ire/wtfedness.

What they said. And LB's right. He's just as much to blame.

A number of years ago, I spent some (too much) time reviewing threads in which I'd posted. I was mortified to see how many I had turned into 'me' threads. I hadn't realized I'd been doing that. It was eye-opening. I've since tried to knock it off. I don't always succeed.

I just did it again, didn't I?

I have the opposite problem.

I often try to turn threads intentionally into "me" threads.

It's just that nobody lets me.

DevilKitty100 wrote:Ok……I’ll give this a whirl, especially since two of my call outs are mentioned specifically.

For me the main reason I didn’t address you specifically is that I’ve always thought you to be a most reasonable and insightful kind of guy. You’re bright, funny, witty and sharp as a tack. You also have given so very much to the bored over the years. You’ve created a dimension that I don’t think anyone else could possibly duplicate……..not any one person anyway.

Secondly, it’s kind of fun watching you chase booty that you may or not catch. Who knows? Who cares? ...........well, except you.

My remarks were meant for your eyes/ears also regardless of where they were placed. And here’s the reason: The fun and shenanigans are fine. Really, they are. But they are just so G-O-D-D-A-M-N-E-D pervasive. Like my favorite line from Starman where Jeff Bridges is the watching the redneck take a leak …….Redneck: ”Every Goddamn where you look.” It’s like Chinese water torture………an incessant drip, drip, drip, drip, drip. No fucking end in sight.

I didn’t have the same degree of problem with you and Mini because there was relief from it. Mini would be here a few hours and then poof, she was gone. Not so with you and SF……it’s morning, noon and night. No relief. I just ignored yours and Mini’s exchanges because they didn’t permeate the entire board. But it’s all but impossible now to even find, much less read, a thread that hasn’t taken on a tangential life of its own. When I open a thread and see four or more of yours and SF’s avatars in a row, I just close it and move on.

Thirdly, I haven’t cut Sunflower any slack because for the most part, I find her rude, just unbelievably rude…………not witty, not sarcastic, not funny, not edgy, not perky……just rude at its most common denominator, except when she’s having exchanges with people that she deems worthy. I could also say vapid, empty and narcissistic, but that might be a bit rude on my part.

And lastly, I know for a fact, FACT, that there are at least five other people on this bored who feel the same way. And BDM is not one of those five, btw.

And I agree, the wonderful part of this board is that we can all say what we want.

And I hope you don’t shred my avatars.

I have always had the utmost respect for your candor and balls to post how you feel regardless of how it may come across, and I would return the bright, funny, witty and sharp as a tack compliment to you as well. You and me have had disagreements in the past, some of which we still do not agree on, yet there has always been a mutual respect for each other, and that has still not changed....

I couldn't possibly disagree more with your assessment on Hooly though. I'm not saying she isn't capable of putting people off.... though just about any of us are capable of that.... but to label her 50 shades of rude is just flat out ridiculous. To each their own, everyone has the right to like who they want to like, but I do like her and because of that, I am just tired of getting her bitched out for stuff I am largely responsible for.

But I think for the most part, both me and Hooly are done with this. People are going to think what they want..... que sera sera...... I always said I was never really all that concerned about my Bored reputation....

I think he was distracted by ES's many shades of markers.
