They played "Hella Good" on the radio last night, and I was kicking myself as soon as it came on for not thinking to include it, as it is one of my favorites....
JJC Points:
Marley loves JJC points, so I gave him one for each of his humor answers...
Mini gets 2 JJC points for vagueness and for not taking the logical guess on the BTE song....
Melo gets a JJC point for #12...
TLITF gets 2 JJC points as he hit on enough interesting bits in the dissertation he gave for each answer to hit on the humor scale. And BTW, I'm not mocking it, I love digressions in people's answers.....
TBone gets a JJC point for working camel's ass into a LS game....
Panic gets a JJC point for his Good answers.....
Fanny gets 2 JJC points for the jeemie & Nelly BFF express, and for whatever references of hers I probably skimmed over or went over my head...
Estonut gets a JJC point for calling Marky mark's lyrics crappy....
Not one of the higher scoring games for sure, but this may seem like slugfest compared to today's game given that the Squiggly usually brings out bunches of low scores.....

In my mind, Yes just did one song in the 70's, and it was four hours long and DJ's would put it on when they wanted a bathroom/smoke break. All Yes songs blend into one long song, then they put out Owner of a Lonely Heart and I bet college club DJ's got paid $15 million dollars to play it every half an hour, because I heard it so many times...
I like the song and I appreciate how aging members of the Talking Heads found a way to be accepted by the younger set--become cartoon characters. I would have gotten this if you put in the "windmill windmill" part instead...Feel Good, Inc. - Gorillaz (Ouch, hardly anyone got this one! This song kicks ass! Boom, ba doo doo, boom boom! Thank you. I should post a long digression here on something that has almost nothing to do with the subject. But I'm too busy at work.littlebeast13 wrote:Oops!ToLiveIsToFly wrote:I'm the funniest guy in the room. Always. So I'm not surprised to see the JJC points here. I did bowl a 122 and a 246 in consecutive games last night. I think the last time I doubled my score from one game to the next I was a Cub Scout. And I know the last time I bowled a score that high I was in high school. So I'm simultaneously embarrassed and proud.

I'm gabberflasted! Next time you tell this story, leave out the part about the 122. Congratulations!!!
Although I admit, I still brag about my triplicate 108. I had to pick six pins off a rack to get it.

One of the guys on the other team rolled trip 224's last night. (It was only ~20 pins above HIS average.) He needed to finish with two strikes and a nine to do it. The owner brought him out a patch, which was funny.SportsFan68 wrote:ToLiveIsToFly wrote:

About a month ago I got to watch another member of another team we were bowling against get a 300. These are serious bowlers I bowl again. My little 170 average puts me firmly in the bottom tier.

All this talk about bowling makes me nervous. Before anyone gets any bright ideas, I'm not that kind of Skittles!

That nice 510 woulda put you on the very far right of the bell curve in the league I last bowled in.
I can tell you without hesitation, if I'd needed a double plus nine for my triplicate, I still wouldn't have it.
Our league secretary sent away for my patch, and it came back with 108 on it. I can't fudge that one.

Re: Lyrically Speaking - 3/3/09
I averaged about 170 in college. I'd like to say that 20-odd years off somehow improved my skills. But really I think the oil and ball technology are just better. Balls are weighted to, well, do something that makes you bowl better. Their surfaces are made of some kind of NASA technology and moonbeams. The lanes have lots of oil in the middle and very little towards the gutters. So if you throw a hook, if you miss toward the gutter, your ball will hook more to make up for it. If you miss toward the middle it will hook less.SportsFan68 wrote:WOW!ToLiveIsToFly wrote: One of the guys on the other team rolled trip 224's last night. (It was only ~20 pins above HIS average.) Good grief, Fly! First you mention the 122 in the same breath as your 246. Then you give all the credit for your 170 average to improved bowling alley technology!ToLiveIsToFly wrote:

You gotta learn to be more selective in what facts you provide -- or omit.

My all time high game was a 247 I got when I was just 14. I bowled for 8 more years and never really came close to that again....
And to prove what kind of a fluke that game was, my other two games that day were both in the low 100's.....
