"Davy Crockett, Peter Pan, Elvis Presley, Disneyland"
We Didn't Start the Fire - Billy Joel (This one was a tribute to my all-time favorite Q3 from the Old Phone Game... in which you had ot put these four items in the order they appeared in this song. How I managed to do that in under 10 second that one time I got it, I have no idea....)
"Then you flew your Lear Jet up to Nova Scotia to see the total eclipse of the sun"
You're So Vain - Carly Simon (It is not as easy as one might think to make a realistic looking total eclipse....)
"I saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac"
Boys of Summer - Don Henley
"There's a little black spot on the sun today, it's the same old thing as yesterday"
King of Pain - The Police
"Paint myself in blue, and red, and black, and gray"
Mr. Jones - Counting Crows
"I tell you one and one makes three"
Cult of Personality - Living Colour (Some of the WAGs at this were inventive, but this is the only one that really fits the picture)
"Patty gave birth to a 10 pound baby boy"
Young Turks - Rod Stewart (I thought up this one for the game while in my detergent aisle many moons ago. Within 5 minutes of me thinking of it, this song came on the radio. This happens to me much more often than it should, and creeps me out....)
"It's a death row pardon 2 minutes too late"
Ironic - Alanis Morrisette (Unfortunate, but certainly not ironic....)
"Kissing like a bandit stealing time underneath the sycamore tree"
Wishing Well - Terrence Trent D'arby (This was the most elaborate of all the early ideas I had for the game, and one I figured would be a tough nut to crack.... and indeed it was as even starfish, who I knew good and well from past LS games loves this song, missed it...)
"We are drinking beer at noon on Tuesday in a bar that faces a giant car wash"
All I Wanna Do - Sheryl Crow (Funny how Kay and silvercamaro thought it was July 13th on the calendar. It is actually the 14th, though in passing I realized I missed the opportunity to make it the 13th...)
"We haven't had that spirit here since 1969"
Hotel California - The Eagles (I really thought this one would be tougher than it was, but almost everyone who played got it. And yes, the SDG stands for SloppyDrunkGuy...)
"And while Lenin read a book on Marx"
American Pie - Don McLean (I had an "uh oh" moment at work Tuesday night when they played this song on Mecca Radio and I intentionally listened for this line.... then realized that Marx really doesn't rhyme with park and dark... making me wonder if he really was saying Marx, as that would blow the whole picture. I made sure to double check when I got home. Hey, with how badly I mishear lyrics you never know.....)
I'm glad everyone seemed to like this game, even those who didn't do very well at it. It's an idea I've had in my head since at least last April when I was still secretly churning out BB portraits right and left. I figured it would be the crown jewel of my next LS contest, and I originally had this much later in the game. But then when it came to my attention that yesterday was Squirrel Appreciation Day, well, I couldn't possibly not move ES's game to that day. It took me only 3 days to make all these pictures, at about 15-30 minutes a pop. Drawing freehand in MS Paint is not all that time consuming.... it's the stuff I want to look good that I scan to Paint that takes longer to do.....
JJC Points:
There were lots of JJC points awarded in this game because frankly some of the answers this game inspired made me laugh so hard that I lost track of the point count!
mntetn got 2 JJC points, and I believe was the only one to point out it was July 14th in #10...
Kay got 2 JJC points for another act of cluelessness and naivety....
Melo got 3 JJC points, most of it for the answer to #3, which almost had me on the floor...
starfish got 2 JJC points in large part because of his gag answer to #9, which means he almost did as well as if he'd have recognized Wishing Well anyway!
Sprots for 2 JJC points, one of which was awarded for her attempting to beg for JJC points without offering ES a scritch in exchange. The noive!!!!
Saucy got 3 JJC points, as some of her made up titles were a riot, especially #1...
ghost... yes, ghost got 3 JJC points! She was actually pretty funny in this game!
Fanny got 2 JJC points, and I lose 2 JJC points for skipping over her Dragnet reference she planted in there for me. Ugh!
Clem got a supermax of 5 JJC points for really being funny. And yes, Men in Tights is one of just 3 Mel Brooks movies I have seen, and I remember the moving mole gag....
melly got 2 JJC points for her answer to #3...
Thousandaire also got a supermax of 5 JJC points for maybe the overall funniest set of answers in the whole game. His answer to #10 just about killed me.....
silvercamaro got 3 JJC points for entertaining me in the wee, wee, wee hours of the morning. I'm glad I wasn't the only one up all last night...
