I seem to recall something about him being in Illinois and Indiana this week, though.

I asked him what he did wrong, to deserve such a punishment....
You have recalled correctly....I am currently in IL, but will be heading over to IN tomorrow before returning to TX on Sunday.

The real punishment, in this case, isn't where I am, but what I have to use to get to the internet right now.....this PC is at least 7 years old, running Windows ME and IE 5.5, and connecting to the internet via dial-up. I am truly in cyber hell right now. This also explains why I haven't attempted to look in here before now.....checking email tests my patience enough as it is. :x

He won't get home from his vacation until Sunday, so he can't do anything until then. He said the only real solution is to find a chat program he can host on his own server. He has found one he wants to try, but until then, we need to hope the PC's stay away.....

As he said, I have a couple of alternatives to try out, but didn't get a chance to do any testing before I left. They will be secure options that interlopers can't access unless they log into the Bored (at which point they can be identified and banned if they register and come in just to cause trouble.) I will make every effort to get something new set up this coming week.

Be sure to watch out for that scary Y2K bug. You'll want to stock up on a few weeks worth of cash, food, guns, and other basic provisions until the danger passes.

Gun sales have tripled here (and this is Virginia, so you can only imagine...) since the election because SOME have been saying Obama is going to ban guns and come pry them out of your cold, dead, etc etc. The newspapers have joked maybe he should drop hints about banning gas-guzzlers and Gucci to give a sales boost to GM and Nordstrom right about now...
