I never bought a Lottery ticket and never will. You're ALWAYS going to lose more than you gain on average, and even if by some miracle you win the jackpot it will likely change your life for the worse like countless other winners in the past.

This $1.3 Billion jackpot is a way to boost sales as it gets everyone thinking "$2 can make me an instant Billionaire? Sign me up!!!" It's nowhere near that simple, and it never will be.

No, after cash value & taxes, probably more like a 1/2 Billionaire. I've got little use for more than $50 million. I would even be hesitant to set aside more to "pass it down to further generations" as I've seen what "old money" produces. There would be lots of charities receiving $$.

No, not your calculator. Your reading comprehension and application to word problems.

Estimated jackpot now at $1.5 billion (cash value $930 million).

As someone once said, "That's killin' money."

I could end up being the only person in my office after Wednesday's drawing. Everyone's pooling money to buy tickets, but I'm not. I figure why add my $2 to someone else's jackpot.

I've never lost a billion dollars quite that quickly ever before.

The good news is that I matched the powerball number on one of my tickets so I only lost $2 this time around.

I had a ticket with 3 numbers. Two had the same powerball; 10. I also, for some reason on that ticket I paid the Powerplay. So I will win a multiple of 2x4. I won between $16 and $40. The ticket cost me $12. Plus the $5 from work (that will pay nothing). So I'm somewhere between -$1 and +$23.

Except that you can't do cut-and-paste with the bar code at the bottom of the ticket. The lottery officials will scan that and know that my winning ticket is faker than LeBron James's hairline.

Nice thought, though...

I won $2!

I don't remember if it was on my PowerBall or MegaMillions ticket.

Both are back to earth, more or less. They're both still stratospheric to me. I don't know what I'd do with $40 million.

I'm back again! That's because the MegaMillions is now up to $540 million for tonight's drawing. Also, the Powerball is at $288 million. I played a few tickets of both!
