Had absolutely no idea and was running out of time, so put 4-3-2-1 and hoped for the best, but after realizing #1 was by Pearl Buck as I was punching the numbers in, I realized I was screwed. If I'd have remembered that, I think I would've put her first and the rest backwards and I would've made it to #5.

4 - S.L. -- possibly Salt Lake City??

I won't post an answer as I'm not sure of the starting point nor of #4.

Well, I got as far as Q4 tonight.

Q1. Parts of a car, front to back:
1. Door lock
2. Windshield
3. Trunk
4. Headlights
Spoiler
4-2-1-3. Easy, just praying not to fat-finger....
Q2. Movies, theatrical release, starting with the earliest: (uh-oh... Movies and non-classical Music are easily my weakest categories)
1. Three Amigos
2. School of Rock
3. Knocked Up
4. Ghostbusters
Spoiler
4-1-2-3. I knew Ghostbusters (1984) was first, and Three Amigos (1986) not long after. And I knew I'd heard of Knocked Up (2007) not too long ago. No clue on School of Rock (2003), so I applied the "Gap Rule" and swagged it correctly.
Q3. Literary detectives, order of appearance in print, starting with the earliest:
1. Sam Spade
2. Inspector Javert
3. Sherlock Holmes
4. Kinsey Millhone
Spoiler
2-3-1-4. Not too hard, my wife is a fan of Sue Grafton's "alphabet" novels, featuring Kinsey Millhone, and I had a good idea when the others were (Spade, 1930-ish; Javert, 19th century; Holmes, late 19th/early 20th century; Millhone, 1980's/1990's).
Q4. Artists, by year of birth, starting with the earliest:
1. Grandma Moses
2. Peter Max
3. Mary Cassatt
4. Frida Kahlo
Spoiler
3-1-4-2. Cassatt (1844), Moses (1860), Kahlo (1907), Max (1937); I was on firm ground with Cassatt and Moses, but swapped Max and Kahlo through sheer cluelessness.

elwing had a rough night, flaming out on the very first question.

Q1. Put these words in order by the number of syllables they contain, starting with the fewest.
1 - strength
2 - syllable
3 - superhero
4 - <something>
Spoiler
Rather than writing down the words, she wrote the number of syllables, 1-3-4-2, then promptly keyed in 1324 rather than the correct 1423.

In this particular Phone Game, no, it makes no difference, since all of the taping dates will be available every day of the Phone Game. (In past versions, there were sometimes tape dates that were only available early on, so they might not have gotten so many qualifiers choosing them as other dates.)

That peace of mind thing might get more important, as the days go by. Stay calm! Stay focused! Breathe!

Here are my Q's from last night, I recorded the whole ugly affair on my phone.

Arrange the following words to form the title of a song from the musical Ain’t Misbehavin’:

The
Joint
Is
Jumping

Put these movies in the order of their first theatrical release beginning with the most recent:

Me, Myself & Irene
Thelma & Louise
Smokey & The Bandit
Bonnie & Clyde

Put the following in order by their average temperature starting with the hottest:

Sun’s core
Bolt of lightning
Boiling water
Summer’s day

I knew the answer, but reversed bolt & boiling. When I played it back I can then be heard saying, “Damn” & “I fat fingered”. I realized afterward that hadn’t fat fingered but just couldn’t read my own handwriting and had just punched the order in wrong.

Where’s that video camera?
Enjoy every sandwich

Both of these woulda killed me. Hmmm, closest to Asia . . . hmmmmmmmmm Bzzzzzzzzzt!

Ansel Adams is the only one of these I've heard of. Not that I ever get there . . . .
I THINK I would have gotten the first one, but only because I know that Shasta is in California, so I would have assumed Mt Washington is farther east. But it's really a bad question (assuming Fred didn't read the states). I looked it up, just to see, and Wiki shows 15 different Mts Washington (peaks, not towns) in the US, to include 4 in Washington State and one in Oregon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pe ... Washington), as well as one in British Columbia. One of those in WA and the one in BC are both farther east than Mt Shasta. :(

I would have missed the second one. Never heard of Riis or Man Ray. The name of the latter sounds very modern (like Mancow?), but I would have assumed they were both younger than Ansel Adams, who was pretty old when he died and that was over 20 years ago.
