Seems like maybe they're only doing the three road auditions... wouldn't they have already posted for more auditions if they were doing them this month? Just a theory)

As I said last week in this thread:

They've usually done six road trip auditions each summer, so we would normally expect another three someplace. Maybe they'll announce another road trip for the week of August 23 or August 30, where there's a gap in the taping schedule. After that, I'd say they'd be too busy with the taping to bother with the travel.

It does seem like they're running out of time to announce another set of auditions, at this point.

Curious if anyone's heard of Movie Week's fate? Have they scheduled shooting or at least confirmed the special's contestants? Curious if it's still on the horizon, since the revamp might be getting most of the attention for awhile.

Welcome, Mr. Kramer, while special taping dates aren't announced, in my experience Movie Week has been done at the end of the season. I've been in the audience for it twice, both times in the first few days of November. And last year I was there right after it taped (at least according to a PA), once again, in early November. Perhaps that's when they do all the specials? Hope this helps.

Hey everyone! Sorry to hear about everyone's sad cards but please stick with it. I got two (yeah I know two isn't that bad) sad cards before I was picked from a video audition last year and was on the show. This forum was very helpful for me getting on the show and I am indebted to the helpful people here.

As for how long from tape date to air date, my show was taped on October 16, 2009 and aired on January 30th(?somewhere around there) so it was about 14 weeks. I believe Drew had a much longer wait in-between so there is no set time.

It depends. The first ones taped only have a month or so before they start to air, but the ones taped in November may have to wait until June to be aired. And, once in a while, they decide to take episodes out of order, so some (un)lucky contestants get an extra long wait.

Don't they usually air Movie Week around February, as part of all the Oscar hoopla?

Phil, thanks for the info about lag to air time. What was you experience regarding time between The Call and taping?

I was called within a week of receiving the happy card and I taped two weeks after getting the call. If you are a WE (wherever. read:local to NYC) they may give you even less time. Several people from my taping only were giving a couple of days and at least one was told the day before. The previous tape date had a few llamas and burned through a lot of contestants so I think they needed to have a few extra on hand.

This reminds me, I never finished my trip report so if I get some time and remember the details I will finish it one day. It will probably now resemble the Godfather trilogy than the Star Wars, with the third part coming much later and being a pale comparison to the first two.

Sorry, I got a little excited. It's just that I've tried out so many times and today is the first time I've gotten this far. I have intermittent insomnia and it reared it's ugly head again last night, so I figured there'd be no way I could charm anyone on 3 hours of sleep. Evidently I do better punchdrunk. Who knew?
