2-A friendly witch is the rather unlikely storyteller in this country. She was an old woman sweeping her front steps
when the Magi came by and asked for directions to Bethlehem - though they were following the star.
The asked her to join them, but she "minds her own business" and refused to follow. She soon regretted that decision,
but by then the star was gone, and since then she roams the world looking for the Christ Child, and leaving gifts for
the children on January 5 (eve of the Epiphany), just in case she's found the child.

3- In this country, the "Daruma seller" describes how they celebrate the New Year rather than Christmas.
The Daruma sellers sell these Daruma dolls, that are pretty roly-poly, and even when dropped on their heads
still end up right-side-up. The Daruma dolls have eyes without pupils, and by tradition at New Years you make
a wish and paint a pupil in the Daruma's left eye. Then when your wish comes true, you paint in the other pupil.
If it doesn't...you can try again the next year.

The Yukons take the lead.
Okay, I was almost totally lost anyway.
If it weren't for Amazing Race......

1-Christmas future is far away
Christmas past is past
Christmas present is here today
Bringing joy that may last
White Christmas
2-The sun is shining, the grass is green
The orange and palm trees sway
There's never been such a day
In Beverly Hills, LA
White Christmas
3-Christmas makes you feel emotional
It may bring parties or thoughts devotional
Whatever happens or what may be,
Here is what Christmas time means to me.
White Christmas
4-I'm dreamin' tonight of a place I love
Even more then I usually do
And although I know it's a long road back
I promise you

Each team averaged 2 points, so the Yukons hold a 7.67 to 7.5 edge going into the last round!!
The excitement is unbearable!!!!
Then again, I don't get out much.
Crud - I think I picked 5, not 7.
I'll go check and see.

1-In "A Charlie Brown Christmas", Lucy tells Snoopy he'll have to portray
ALL of the animals for the Christmas play. What are the three animals she asks him to imitate?
Donkey (or ass, as I like to say), sheep and cow, maybe
2-If we're to believe the story line in "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", the 1970 animated-with-puppets

Mrs. Santa? Mrs Smith
3-What's the name of the Grinch's dog? Max

I may just post the questions as a quiz for the bored at large as well. Kay had mentioned she might look in and play tomorrow, too. Might be easier than trying to play and avoid all the spoilers in this thread. As the Byrds once sang and Dylan once wrote, "I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to.."
How sweet are you!
I have been edumacated, feel stoopid and smarter.
Very much fun was had by mee.
I especially like that I am not alone in hating Cal's favorite film of all time.
