I know it sounds so simple for all of you who've been selected, but it's not for us introverts who've been shot down time after time. There may be new APs, but they've got the same guidelines.

If you refuse to do something that you don't want to do for 2 minutes in order to have a shot at something that you want to do, then nothing anybody can say will help you. You don't want to play a trivia game, you want to play a trivia game on your own terms.

I don't want to unass the chair to mop the floor, but I want a clean kitchen. Unless the Mop Fairy shows up soon, I'm not going to get what I want unless I spend a few minutes doing something that I don't want to do.

Marley, if you want to get on BAM, you will HAVE to adhere to their requirements. It's a TV show. With moving pictures. If a certain amount of perkitude or whatever wasn't needed all they would have to do would be to show a PowerPoint of someone's correctly answered questions in realtime and award the dollars off stage. That would be like one of the many boring meetings I attend every week.

I have auditioned, I forget, four times. I passed the test each time. First time the interview was a disaster and I knew it. Second time I had them laughing and we were smoking and joking and I was thrilled. No card. Third time, so so interview. Fourth time, so so interview. None of the interviews was uncomfortable, all were moderately long and I engaged my interviewer. Still no happy card. I don't know what exactly I could do differently back then. Now, I would have a shitload of quirky stuff to talk about. However, I can't get to the tryouts this time.

My point is, IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT. Stop whining. The old days are gone. Wishing for them won't make them come back.

I'll say what fanny and beebs said, except for one thing.

Don't stop whining if you want to whine. Just know that we know that your whining won't get you in the hot seat. Nor will your whining change what you are whining about.

If there is some optimistic BB whose parade we've shat on, I'll apologize to him or her. But, having been on this quest for somewhat longer than you were, the veteran auditioners tend to fall in one of two categories:
1. Those who continue to pursue a forlorn hope.
2. Those whose discouragement has led them to stop tilting at windmills.

Okay I'm in a bad mood because I got a speeding ticket on my way to work.

But my point is, a little more positivity might help. Why don't you embrace it and put your energy into coming up with something creative instead of just naysaying it right off the bat. I know you've had a long and hard road, and I'm sorry. But this is something you haven't tried yet, so how do you know??? You don't!!!! I don't want to fight either, I want you to turn that frown upside down and start making a video!!!

Yes, but technically the woman should also be in her 40's or older to qualify as a cougar...they make "cougar in training" shirts for people in their 30's who still want to go after younger guys. I know this because when I dated my younger than me (but not that young) personal trainer a few years ago, one of my friends bought me that shirt.
