The only Tom Berenger match I can think of is Margaret Whitten, who played the owner in Major League.

SO, we must need something else for him, since I believe our Margarets are used up.

My first thought is Sheridan WHITeside, who is the character in The Man Who Came to Dinner based on Alexander Woolcott.

Here's a consolidation. I verified Andy Whitfield (who matched with Andy Robustelli, since Andy Kaufman is matched) and Oscar de La Hoya. Pastor Fireball corrected the only guess with a single answer that was wrong in the last consolidation, so the remaining ones have been changed to definites.

Oops, I just realized I made some other changes: I accepted Pastor Fireball's Sheldon Leonard as the right answer to 48 since it made such a nice match. That answer and Dionne Warwick accounted for the two questions with multiple guesses, all of which were wrong; so I made Ravel the definite answer to #75, since I could confidently rule out Khachaturian and Copland.

I think Morrissey's bandmate is named Alain Whyte? Or is it White?

I don't know enough about Morrissey to know.

You're right but "Carmilla" is his best known short story.

Carmilla is generally considered a novella or short novel rather than a short story.

Is this the odd pair, where parts of both names are combined to make another name?

I don't quite see how that works. We derive Eli Whitney from 41. Eli Lilly, so the other half has to be a person associated with Eli Whitney. How is Larry the Cable Guy associated with Eli Whitney?

I think it would be a little odd to connect Larry the Cable Guy with his own birth name, but that still might be the answer. Matching him with Eli Whitney could work if he were famously descended from him or something, but I don't think that's the case.

Kudos to macrae for figuring that one out! I had tried a few times to google it without success.

Maybe we can match Larry to Whitney Blake if we can find a Hazel connection or One Day at a Time or Meredith Baxter or as a stretch Perry Mason

Does this work?

54. KEITH OLBERMANN + 67. MACK BROWN = A. WHITNEY BROWN

Disregarding the first initial gives me pause.

Okay, I was poking around--some might call it cheating--and I noticed a connection of a type we hadn't considered:

67. MACK BROWN + 6. MAJOR GARRET = MAJOR APPLEWHITE

And that suggests
15. MICHAEL CAINE + 75. MAURICE RAVEL = MAURICE MICKLEWHITE

which validates
88. LARRY THE CABLE GUY + 42. DAN GLICKMAN = DAN WHITNEY
