So, to get back to the point raised earlier which I was questioning:

Is there another BB who has been auditioning and getting rejected over the years and hasn't yet been in the Hot Seat who thinks the videotaped audition is a good thing? And has their optimism been damaged by any negativity expressed by me and certain other BBs in this thread?

Hey! I'm pretty good at oozing negativity! And I still think it's a great idea, although I would have been shocked if the usual suspects didn't immediately jump on it as the Worst Thing Ever. If I have to turn in my Non-Hotseater club card because I think that way, then so be it.

Like I said last night in chat, there's probably a sparkly, smart, charming person in Lusk, Wyoming with a cheap camcorder but no means to travel hundreds of miles for a road audition, much less go to NYC.

I've auditioned 2 days, once last year and once earlier this month. Passed all my tests (2 regular and 2 movie) but I guess bombed the interview b/c I've gotten 4 PODs. At least this past time I did get the 2nd interview for the movie week, still a no, but progress nonetheless.
I'm looking forward to trying this alternate method. I think I'll be able to do better when I'm not worrying about having to answer certain questions and just being able to talk about myself and script ahead of time and edit, if necessary. I still may have no luck, but it's worth a shot!

No, I have no interest in auditioning and I haven't for several years. I didn't even play the phone game when Super BAM was on a couple years ago.

That's one of the reasons that I did not answer your question directly. Besides garnering scorn or being run out of town on a rail because I really have no interest in the show anymore, I didn't know if I met your requirements since I haven't actively auditioned for a long time and I was only rejected twice.

However, if someone has been repeatedly rejected over the years, it's not like they would have magically been accepted this time, if only there hadn't been an additional avenue of auditioning for those who chose to take advantage of it. So, unless they made this the ONLY way to audition, it's really no skin off anybody's ass for other people to try something new.

Saying that takes about five seconds, not two minutes.

And I've tried variations of this hook on several in-person auditions, without success.
