Not minding the 'leaks' is key, I have found. When Tom was at death's door with CRF, I had the audacity to have a heart attack. Since I couldn't do anything else for a while, I gave him intensive care during my recovery phase (except when I went to the BAM bus a week after the attack - a stunt that put me on my back for 3 days.). He slowly recovered and we had him 3 more years. ( Remarkable because the vet estimated he was 18-20 at the time)
The downside? Total loss of bladder control for almost the entire last year.

PSM -- nice jump over me tonight. Enjoy being #1 while it lasts. I was extra cautious on a Books question that only 11% of people got right, so I burned a bunch of extra time double checking the choices.

Well, I'll be dropping off the standings on here today.
And, I won't have the chance to climb back in until we get back from vacation. Highly doubtful that there will be internet access at the lake cabin.

After a disastrous start to July, I'm finally back in the top 1000 and might be top 500 after today. Got a softball on Dick Francis books, and got my fastest time ever (sub-three second).
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I'm starting to climb the ladder. That first week just about killed me. I'm still getting way too many Music questions but somehow I'm making more lucky guesses than I was early in the month.

Thank you.
I had a really easy question, "what State is directly south of Washington?" I read the question twice because it seemed too easy. Still, I got over 1,400 points on the question.

Hopefully I can jump up a little more today. I wasn't able to play before I left home and my times are too slow on the work computers so I'll have to play tonight.
Of course, I probably just jinxed myself after a nice run lately.

I had a trevor moment this morning. I chose to stand with the 93% majority that missed the question.

After a three day roll of Geography questions I got the dreaded Music and Musicians category, but it was The Clash so I'm on fire! At least I got a peek (peak?) at the top 100.

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Two in a row where the percentage who answered differently than I did was in single digits. (they got it right)

After I bragged the other day about making it back into double digits I missed yesterday and went rocking back into the trips. I've still been getting the hard ones this month, but I did get a couple that were so easy I was only over 3 seconds because I had to read it twice to make sure it wasn't a trick.
I used a wager token on Movies and Television (bet max, of course!) the other day and they sent me back to hard, % wise. Luckily, I know a lot about the 30's studio system so it was about 3 seconder. That kind of changed my perspective on "hard". Although I still think the pointage should be a combo of speed and difficulty (like the points for quizzes and kerblunks).

I'm darned good and ready.

Aced the Monday question with possibly my highest bonus ever and then crashed to the ground this morning on the Tuesday question.
I'm looking forward to August.

Ok, I got my question correct, but missing two questions this month means that I will probably not finish in the top 10.

Well Starfish and I are on the same page in the next 1000. I answered my question in 4.04 seconds this morning. Probably close to my fastest time ever.
