I didn't say that you and Melly were the most likely to get the bonus pair. The bonus pair was actually part of the original puzzle, but somehow I left it out when going from the planning stages to the final cut-and-pasting and reordering the clues.

You might see what some of the sports buffs have had to say about this one.

They said McKeon coached Benito Santiago, suggesting we're looking for folks whose first name the same as a clue and whose last name is a place.

Benito (Mussolini) + Santiago = Jack McKeon
51. Joel (Hyatt) + Cairo = 64. Peter Lorre

Two more that are "outside the box":
Indiana + 80. (Spike) Jonze = 30. Harrison Ford
58. Miss (Jane Marple) + Saigon = 77. Lea Salonga

Oh, if it's sports-based, there's no way I'm getting it.

(There's a connection between the Florida Marlins and Mussolini?)

I was trying to think of any reasonably well-known recent Braves who would match with Fredi Gonzalez, and came up with Julio Teheran.... which is not a perfect match for the capital of Iran, but Julio Iglesias is in the puzzle...

Teheran is an acceptable alternate spelling of Tehran, so the match has to be valid.

I hope that first names can also work in this puzzle because the voice of the Magic Mirror in Snow White was a guy named Moroni Olsen. Moroni happens to be the capital of the Comoros.

Moroni + 87. Ken Olsen = Moroni Olsen, goes with 59. Magic Mirror

Then it looks like the "refinement" SSS talked about may be that the cities are all capitals.

David Moscow played the younger version of Tom Hanks's character in Big, but we can't tell yet which of the Davids in the puzzle should be used for this match.

If we can anagram the capital city, OSLO anagrams to SOLO, which would make our Napoleon Solo match for David McCallum. But that may be a stretch.

We can match these two up:

15. BILLY ROSE
73. LORD HAW-HAW

The Pacific equivalent of Lord Haw-Haw was Tokyo Rose.

I looked this up on a hunch:

19. PILTDOWN MAN
74. WALTER GRANGER

Sure enough, Walter Granger was one of the discoverers of Peking Man.

Edmond O'Brien was married to Olga San Juan (best known for starring on Broadway in Paint Your Wagon.)

I think we might need to think beyond cities and use any kind of geographic designation because:

86. JILL STEIN
7. DAVID McCALLUM

David McCallum was married to Jill Ireland.

I was not aware of that. In looking it up, I found out that Charles Bronson "stole" her from McCallum, but he's not upset about it.

Amber Valletta matches with Calvin Klein. Jack London has been nagging at me.

CONSOLIDATION
It's been a while, but I'm back with another SSS puzzle. First, you must identify the famous people described in the 104 clues below. Then, group them together to form 48 pairs, one single, one triple, and one quartet according to a Tangredi which you must figure out. Unlike some of my puzzles, there is no significance whatsoever to the number of clues, or pairings in the puzzle. However, one of the answers, if you look at it the right way, could give you a clue to the Tangredi. Once you figure out the Tangredi, you'll probably need to think outside the box to figure out some of the pairings (and this sentence isn't a clue either).
Completed pairs (using capital cities only)
A. Benito Mussolini + B. Jack Mckeon = Benito Santiago
28. Julie Nixon Eisenhower + 97. Jack Webb = Julie London
14. Natalee Holloway + 46. Rex Harrison = Stanley Holloway
94. Amber Heard + 27. Calvin Klein = Amber Valletta
83. The Kingston Trio + 44. Ernie Kovac = The Nairobi Trio
36. The Duke of Windsor + 66. Napoleon Bonaparte = The Duke of Wellington
43. Francis Ford Coppola + 80. Spike Jonze = Sofia Coppola
101. Olga Korbut + 37. Edmond O'Brien = Olga San Juan
69. Alexander Pushkin + 31. Aaron Burr = Alexander Hamilton
3. Irving Stone + 62. Kate Smith = Irving Berlin
19. Piltdown Man + 74. Walter Granger = Peking Man
15. Billy Rose + 73. Lord Haw-Haw = Tokyo Rose

51. Joel Hyatt + 64. Peter Lorre = Joel Cairo
75. Julio Iglesias + 34. Fredi Gonzalez = Julio Teheran

Completed pairs (using geographic names other than capital cities + creative spelling)
