McCain made a ton of money last week off Palin, so it's no surprise that the Dems responded in kind. If you thinks that McCain's base is somehow not motivated, you are mistaken.

Of course McCain's base is motivated. His base is smaller than Obama's though.

Wrong as usual.

Obama's campaign got 10 million because the liberals are panicking. Sarah Palin gave a knockout speech that appeals to a lot of the masses. They thought they had the election in the bag, and now they know that they don't. They are scared, and they should be scared...
Not in my case. Obama will be getting a chunk of my money (now that I've gotten the first paycheck that reflects my raise) because Governor Palin's speech pissed me off. In addition to being mean-spirited and sarcastic, it was condescending.

Who the hell does she think she is, mocking Obama for being a community organizer? And where does she get off using that "roll back the waters and saving the planet" line, when she has presumed to know God's view of the Iraq war? Does she think she has a direct line to his opinion?

Make no mistake, I think that the 2008 version of McCain, although probably not as bad as Bush, would be much worse for the country than Obama. But I could tolerate that thought with relative apathy. I will do everything within my power (consistent with my other responsibilities) to keep Palin out of national office because I can easily see her as being even worse for the country than the current incumbent. --Bob

I'm glad to see that the Republicans are finally willing to attack yet another sham claim to respectability of Obama's, the "community organizer."

There have been many great men and women who have been community organizers. Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and Mother Theresa come to mind.

However, I would think that out of three years of "work," Obama would have some achievement he could speak of. Surely, there's someone he helped find a job after the factories closed, some senior citizens or children he helped out. I would think that the Democratic convention would have been filled with "Barack helped me with his organizing" testimonials. You know, something like actually helping to start a job retraining or employment center or hitting the bricks to companies in other parts of the city to help people get placed in jobs. And I would agree that this type of successful effort does show a degree of exectuive skills that might serve one well in later life. Nope, nada, nothing, zilch. goose egg, zero, zip.

The only person Obama's "organizational" skills seem to have helped is Tony Rezko, who Obama helped into some sweetheart deals for slum housing that left many of his beloved community members literally out in the cold.

Obama's not upset because the honorable calling of helping out those less fortunate in the community has been besmirched by the evil Republicans. He's upset because yet another element of his self-created resume falls apart under any type of serious inspection.

Chicago Annenberg Challenge Program--some more of that "resume" of community organizing. I've read a bit about it, this gives a quick synopsis. You'll note the initial grant writer and recruiter of the original chair of the board of directors (a position held for five years): William Ayers and Barack Obama.
Well, then

Bubba was good at that.

Still do. I watched him from a "watch party" venue with about 1,000 of my closest friends ;), and we gave him noisy ovations same as the Pepsi Center delegates did.
