I've never liked that name for a team. It sounds good, but what is thunder? Just noise. Maybe loud thunder might set off some car alarms, but in reality, what can it do. What it it? No word about a mascot as far as I can tell although mascots often have very little to do with nicknames. The Phoenix Suns have a gorilla, the Indiana Pacers have a cat, the Denver Nuggets have a mountain lion, the Lakers have..... nothing, etc.
The colors are described as Light Blue (for the state flag), Yellow (for the Sun), and Reddish-Orange (a mix of OU and OSU colors).
