Postcard of Death Question

#1 Post by lilac mess » Wed Sep 03, 2008 12:42 pm

If you auditioned for a specialty show and the regular show at a road audition, do you get only one postcard or do you get a separate one for each? For example, if you passed the movie week test and the general knowledge test, do you get a postcard for each or just one that covers everything?

People have been getting two postcards. Doesn't mean that won't change.

For the Halloween Week audition, I got one regular postcard with Halloween written in.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

well yeah...my fiance and i auditioned on aug 13. we both passed the general knowledge test and my fiance also passed the movie week test. so, in our second taped interview, they said he was eligible for movie week, wedding week, and the general show.

well, yesterday he got a postcard of death that had "movie/wedding" written on it and highlighted. wondered if that meant he was out of the general pool too. we both assume that's what it meant.

also, thanks for the welcome. :)

Who reported getting two postcards, Bob?

Seems like--just from how they judge TV presence and energy and all that--that if someone passes both written tests and is good enough for the specialty show Happy Card, they're also good enough for the regular editions. But it doesn't sound like the highlighted card is absolutely clear on that.

But you haven't gotten any sort of card? Strange.

I don't recall the name(s), but that's what I remember.

I only got one card, but they had pencilled in "NetFlix/regular" on it.

Whoops, I mean my friend only got one.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Yeah just wasn't sure what it meant. It didn't say anything about the regular show...wasn't sure if that was just implied.

I had read about people getting two cards over on the TvWOP forum but those posts were from last year and the process could easily change, I imagine.

Hi, Lilac.

My situation: Passed both tests on the road in June, no 2nd interview; received one "combo" sad card 3 weeks later- postmarked 7/10 and received on 7/14. "Movie/Regular" was handwritten, and highlighted in yellow.

Here's my take on yours: Since your fiance's sad card didn't indicate anything about Regular, he would still be eligible for it. You are only expecting a response for Regular. Since you both passed the Regular test individually, but received the second interview as a couple, your situation was handled differently than most. Individual responses are due, and cards indicating those outcomes should be arriving any day...
Good luck!

Same here; one card with "movie/regular" handwritten on it.

My fiance and I are in the same boat - auditioned the same day. We haven't received any postcards yet, but if we get more than one, I'll let you know.
