And it makes the Bored so much less fun to visit.

Thanks for saying hi and empathising with us.

How is James? Son1111 has joined the freshmand football team. The focus required and mandatory passing grades to stay on the team withh be very good for him.

Hope all is well with you up North.

High school starts this week, and he seems pretty pumped up about a new school and new start. Just getting away from the history baggage and many of the antagonists from his school district should help. He is leaning to some very intense courses, tech ed, metal shop as electives, and hopes to join the swim team.

Hugs to you too, Donna and let's make it through this year with no club meeting, eh?

I'm okay with the political carp, as long as it's prepared in the broiler with a lemon pepper rub! :)

I know what you meant, I'm just trying to keep it light! Plus I've been watching too much Iron Chef America, I could see it "Battle - Political Carp"! And Bobby Flay would put mangoes on it, like he does with everything else!

Japan's P.M., Yasuo Fukuda, had the sense to resign today.

No, your carp looks better than PC's carp.

My weekend's gonna get washed out by what's left of Gustav, so I won't get to do any walking to Mickey Dee's or Church's this Thursday.....

You....EXERCISE?!?!?!? *thud!*

Last Thursday I walked, yes WALKED, to Church's for lunch.... which is a nice little 2+ mile jaunt from my house one way.

Not that a little hike like that's strenuous or anything since I'm on my feet and walking for 8 hours 5 nights a week, but I just thought I'd let you know I'm not slothing myself to death..... :P

I recommend Me in Beer:

2 pounds carp
2 12-ounce cans dark beer
1 medium onion
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 bay leaf
½ teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon salt
1 sprig parsley
¼ pound butter
½ cup gingerbread crumbs

Mince onion, add celery, bay leaf . thyme, parsley, beer and salt. Bring to a boil . Cut carp into pieces and place in the sauce. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes on low fire. Remove carp from sauce and thicken sauce with gingerbread crumbs. Strain sauce and stir in butter. The sauce must be creamy and hot; pour it over the carp.

glub...glub...glub....

That actually sounds pretty good. Where do you get gingerbread crumbs? Can you use ginger snaps instead?
