Thanks Hermillion.

Hopefully by the time it gets to me, it won't be so rough. It shouldn't be. Rita gave us a lot rain and a lot of wind damage to structures. Some of my family from LA (Baton Rouge area) have made it to my grandparents' house to get away from whatever the hurricane may bring.

To everyone in these areas -- lots of prayers for a better outcome this go-round...

Batten down those hatches, and keep safe.

On CNN they reported that in five minutes, the skies went from calm to heavy rain, strong winds, and tornado warning south of New Orleans.

I couldn't have said it better myself, so I'll just piggyback on this post and say I'm keepin' you all in my "keepemsafe" thoughts.

From me too. I know all too well the power of these storms. Stay safe.

The wind started to pick up, and clouds started rolling in while I was out shopping this evening.
I ran out to my car just a minute ago. Light sprinkles, but the clouds are looking a bit more ominious.
Looks like the heavier rain will start tonight.

Here's the latest projected path:

It is still really windy here and kinda rainy. And we still have electricity. YES! My parents and my in laws and the rest of our families in south LA don't. I think their power went out this morning around 10am. My inlaws evacuated to redneckland...er...Brookhaven, MS. They were smart. I can't beleive I'm saying that. My parents, however, were not. Right now my dad is prolly about to drive my mom insane. And once the storm clears it is gonna get really frickin' hot in their house and he's gonna get really cranky like little old men tend to do. I told them they could come here if it looks like it's gonna take a really long time for East Baton Rouge parish to get power back. They're old and stubborn so what can you do?
