My favorite dog Xamine is going to his forever home on Wednesday with a nice couple. I am happy for him, but I am sad that I won't get to cuddle with him every week.
Two other dogs that we have played with, Robo and Allison are also going to their forever homes.
I am not going to have a favorite dog again.

You're doing a wonderful thing -- I couldn't do it.
And it paid off!!
Congrats to Xamine, Robo, and Allison on their new homes.

My goodness, for a second there I thought "forever" meant something more (gulp!) permanent. I guess I must have missed hearing about these dogs in an earlier post. It sounds like fun! Hope it's not too hard having to say goodbye.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:My favorite dog Xamine is going to his forever home on Wednesday with a nice couple. The girls and I volunteer at Hemopet, a greyhound rescue facilty on Fridays. We walk the dogs, play with the dogs, help clean up after the dogs, and give them baths.
Emma is very good with the dogs and her presence helps give the people who run the facility an idea of how the dogs will react to children.
Maddie also helps fold laundry and mop floors (she is doing this for high school community service) and while she is working, Emma and I get to cuddle with dogs in the "cuddle room."
Xamine is a very laid back, mellow dog and I usually pick him as one of the dogs that I cuddle with each week. Last week I heard that he might be adopted, but I didn't realize that he would be going home so fast.
We aren't ready to adopt a dog right now, but if I would have adopted a dog, it would have been him.
