This story cracks me up. I hope the Mattel company will send the granddaughter tons of Barbie stuff to say thank you for the great publicity for their products.
Now generating the White Hot Glare of Righteousness on behalf of BBs everywhere.

Fishermen can get really superstitious. I wonder how many will venture into the Barbie section of their nearest toy store.

It sounds like a good investment for $10.97 at Amazon.

This may turn out like the Bigfoot story. The Amazon page lists the pole at 5 feet long. The news article says it was 30" long. Amazon says it is a "2-piece rod and reel set". The writer of the ad may have meant that the rod is a 2-piecer.

The more interesting thing I noticed while comparing the 2 pictures was the position of Grampa's right hand. Now that may be the proper way to hold a big fish (I wouldn't know), but I wonder if he "noodled" that catfish and told the kid that he caught it with her pole. Stories like that can get away from one these days.
