What if you never got a postcard?
I auditioned (for the second time, first time I didn't get past the first interview) on July 1st and so far have heard nothing at all. I passed the test and got past the initial interview, then went up and had the videotaped interview. Now it seems like it has been quite some time and I have heard nothing one way or another. Is there anything I can do? The first time I interviewed I got the "thanks but no thanks" postcard, so I know they can at least find me...
As info I live in Brooklyn and auditioned in NYC.

Out of curiosity, when was your first audition? --Bobhollowsphere wrote:I auditioned (for the second time, first time I didn't get past the first interview) on July 1st and so far have heard nothing at all. I never got a post card so that in and of itself is not an indication.
The only insight I have is that a bunch of us got the "hey you, in the contestant pool" email a while back. (Not sure when exactly, seeing as I deleted it since I was already on the show) But if you didn't get that email, I think it's safe to say you weren't in the pool at that point.
That might not be what you want to hear, and I'm sorry...I swear, I'm just trying to help!

I know you're trying to help, sunflower, but that's not a relevant data point when you got The Call before any postcard could have been received!sunflower wrote:I never got a post card so that in and of itself is not an indication.
Hollowsphere did not get any phone calls in early July, so he (she?) should definitely have gotten one or the other postcard by now.

Fair enough, but there were others that were there on my tape dates that didn't get a card until after they taped, or other bizarre situations...MarleysGh0st wrote:I know you're trying to help, sunflower, but that's not a relevant data point when you got The Call before any postcard could have been received!sunflower wrote:I never got a post card so that in and of itself is not an indication.

But I do think not getting the email is a pretty good indication, wouldn't you Marley? They were trying to make sure people had PAFs lined up in advance, so I'm guessing they were thorough in getting the message out, assuming of course, one had provided the correct email address and not changed it after providing it on the application.

A good indication of what? That the post card got lost in the mail or that the APs messed up and forgot to send one.sunflower wrote: But I do think not getting the email is a pretty good indication, wouldn't you Marley?
I don't know what the situation was with those others in your taping group, but I suspect they also got The Call very quickly after their interviews. I don't know of anyone who's gotten The Call out of the blue, after being in the pool for a month or more without ever having known about it because they didn't get the Happy Card.
I agree that it's a good sign (although not a guaranteed sign) that hollowsphere got to the videotaped interview. But there still should have been a postcard after that!
You were auditioning for a regular edition show, weren't you, hollowsphere? Not for Movie Week or something like that, for which they may not have made any casting decisions yet?

I meant that not getting the email...was a good indication of not being in the contestant pool at that point in time.MarleysGh0st wrote:A good indication of what? Postcards are postcards, they can get lost or whatever. But the emails were designed to make the production staff's lives easier by preparing people to have PAFs lined up and ready to go, in case of a quick tape date following a call.
I don't know how reliable the email notifications were (seeing as many who have appeared already received them), so that's what I was asking, do we trust the emails because if so, anyone auditioning prior to the distribution of that (July-ish?) is probably not in the pool if they haven't received either a postcard or a call or an email.
