It sure was! Thanks again, AJ, particularly for choosing questions that aligned so well with my wheelhouse.

After the unoffical results seemed clear yesterday, JBillyGirl and I discussed what to do for August and decided to be co-meisters. I'll be posting the weekday QoD, following the same format you had: four questions worth two points each, with a two point bonus for a perfect score. JBillyGirl will post an expanded weekend QoD.

I'll try to be ready to start on Monday.

Fanny, would you mind if August is All-Geography, All-the-time?

Is there a monetary prize for 24th place?

Yes. I have the formula right here. You find the factorial of the ranking numbers of the competitors, divide that by the number of competitors and convert it to a percentage. You then subtract your rank from the total number of ranks and multiply that number by the percentage. The result is then multiplied by the total pot so determine your prize.

So for 24th place it works out to something like this:

37! is 1.37637531 × 10 to the 43 which when divided by 37 gives you 3.71993327 × 10 to the 41 or 3.71993327 x 10 to the 39%. 37 - 24 is 13 and 13 x 3.71993327 x 10 to the 39% is 48.3591325 x 10 to the 39%. That number times the total pot of $0.00 means that you won $0.00.

The check will be in the mail in 6 to 8 weeks.

Whew, that was a close one!

If only I had figured out the Alphabet theme earlier, I think I might've won.

Excellent game. Each day was short, the instructions were simple, the facts were interesting, the scoring was obvious. A much better job than I when I hosted many moons ago.
