Success!

The boys pulled into the parking garage at the Peabody Hotel around 1:30 in the afternoon....right on schedule, more or less! The last several miles were tenuous, of course. They rode into town on some avenue with stop lights every 8 feet or so. The Pink Bitch is 22 feet long if I recall correctly, so she was stopping a lot. And getting overheated. But! They made it, and it was a fitting arrival.

The last communique was a text around 10pm:
"Yeah baby yeah! Blues on Beale!"

They tried to see their show the following morning, but the lobby was packed with duckerazzi. Since they're too kind to elbow small children and old grannies out of the way, they ditched the lobby for the bar and had bloody marys instead.

Fab time at Graceland, even if the parking attendant refused to comp entry for the Pink Bitch! Lots of curious folks came over to meet the Bitch and the two crazy cats driving her...or attempting to, at least! And that night on Beale, NN's brother sat in with some musicians and played drums for 5 songs. The guys told him he was welcome to jam a bit as long as he bought their CD.

They were out late, and of course are paying for it today. Big time. So you can imagine how much their hurting now: they're waiting for another tow, on the interstate, in 100+ temps. The Bitch just doesn't like to go far...you can't push a woman, you know? I s'pose she decided to blow a tire since everything is (more or less) operational with the engine.

As you may have guessed, the Louisiana portion of the trip is not going to happen. They're coming back via Nashville instead, and I'm pulling out the maps to find the least mountainous route for the PB. The radiator's overflow hose has melted, so, well, you know.

Male bonding at its best, right?

If they bring home all the broken parts they've had replaced, I'm guessing there'd be no room in the trunk for luggage...
