Sorry to hear about the damages, but glad to hear that everyone chez Suchard is okay.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:...Emma had a deep friend Avocado, which she liked.
Jeff and I split a pulled pork sandwich and a funnel cake. I like looking at the deep friend stuff, but I seldom buy it.
I forgot, they also had Deep Fried Frog Legs too.
Thanks for mentioning the deep fried frog's legs at the end - that put the buzzkill on the other yummy sounding fair food!

I had to look this up. Apparently Dibs are ice cream things, right?PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I gave the girls money and told them that they could keep the change.
They bought wristbands to go on unlimited rides and then bought one item each. There were people giving out free bags of Dibs at the fair and the girls decided that rather than spending money, they would get free bags of Dibs when they were hungry.
Sorry about the quake damage. Glad it wasn't worse.

PSM, Thank goodness you all are ok! I am sorry that you're belongings are not. I am sorry the kitty cats are suffering PTS. I hope that Jasper will recover soon.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:We live really close to Chino Hills. We were in the car when the earthquake hit, on our way to the OC Fair. We had a lovely day at the Fair. Some of the girls' friends were texting them to tell them how bad it was, but we didn't go home until we were done with the Fair.
The cats are pretty freaked out. Lucy is the only cat who came out from under the bed, Lily and Jasper are still hiding.
Everyone is ok though!
GEEEZ...fwh, called me during the earthquake...wished I was with him in HB. WHAT? Yeah, so that I could "experience" an earthquake. Word of mouth is ok by me. I've been in Hurricanes, Blizzards, seen a tornady up close and personal, I want to leave earthquake off my "to do" list thank you very much.
When the big earthquake hit the Bay area during the World Series late 80's, my brother was living in San Jose. Fortunately, he was visiting MA when the quake hit. Unfortunately, my SIL (whom I love to bits), was at work in San Jose in a 14 story building. It was bad...she was ok, but had mucho after effects. My SIL is 80% hearing-impaired, and the earthquake did something to her equilibrium or something...she went to Stanford Medical for help, and was part of a study on the effects of earth quakes on the hearing-impaired. It took quite a while for her comfortable even flying.

YUM! I bet it would be good with a snickers too! Now I need to find a fair that will have this stuff!!!hermillion wrote:When I joined Confessor and Frogman in Austin for trivia last week, I indulged in a deep fried 3 Musketeer. The bar was cut in three chunks, dipped in donut batter and fried. Served on a plate next to a small dish of vanilla ice cream. Chocolate sauce was drizzled over chunks and ice cream. The bar was warm and gooey, and fabulous with a small bite of ice cream with each yummy mouthful. If you ask the guys, they will confirm that I didn't even offer to let them have a taste.

Wow, PSM - so sorry to hear your place took such a hit! Just glad that "everyone" is ok.
Here in the west valley felt just a bit of shaking at my desk, not enough to make anything fall over. Went right on with my project, didn't even realize the impact till later when the calls started coming in.
Mom phoned in hysterics from Boca, once again convinced that whatever disaster happens anywhere in California that I must be directly involved. Considering having her cable disconnected.
In '94 we were on the epicenter; that was a different story.
