2nd most popular sport in world is
according to some source I just heard about:
I find it hard to believe, but anyway. The US team didn't even have a gym to train in until an entrepreneur of Thai descent invested lots of their own money into building a private facility because "we were getting our butts kicked".

Lots of debate about the 2nd most popular sport but I'd be pretty skeptical of claims about any of them.ghostjmf wrote:according to some source I just heard about:

I read somewhere that 13 sports claim to be the world's 2nd most popular sport. Statistics backing those claims up, however, are lacking.

So does that mean the 15th most popular sport is undisputed?andrewjackson wrote:Lots of debate about the 2nd most popular sport but I'd be pretty skeptical of claims about any of them.ghostjmf wrote:according to some source I just heard about:

So, the most popular sport is fantasy baseball?
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

I love badminton. We had a league for a while, until the gym we were using was overrun by the gymnastics program -- all those balance beams, bars, mats, etc. etc. really made it hard to play . . . WHACK! ... What was that? ... No problem, I just ran into the horse... And broke my fibula...
Art and Mark, both in their 70s, totally dominated the league the last two years there was one. They would play one game and stomp the opposition, who would concede the match, then split up and each coach his new teammate.
Chris and Michelle, former league champs, benefited greatly from this coaching, and I think they would have given Art and Mark a run for their money the next year if the league had survived the gymnastics onslaught.
Here's my guess for the sport/game most played around here:
1. Bridge
2. Bicycling
3. Golf
4. Softball
5. Soccer
6. Football
7. Baseball
8. Basketball
9. Volleyball
10. Tennis
