Has anybody on the board receive an e-mail from WWTBAM today?
It says I am still in the contestant pool and there is a possibility
I will get the call. It also says, that about the PAF'S that I have to
provide photos for them. When I saw the e-mail, I almost jumped
out of my seat, since this is my first time in the pool.
Any comments or questions, please let me know.
Thanks.

Did frogman mention that he received this email?
Yes, I got it, it came into my mailbox last night around 8 pm. It goes as follows (note the portion in bold is in bold in the email - the only change I made was to remove the phone number):
Dear Contestant Pool Member,
If you are in receipt of this email that means you are a member of the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Contestant Pool ("Pool"). Please be advised that there have been a few changes to the show. One change requires that our Contestants provide photographs of their Phone-A-Friends! You should begin to prepare yourself for the possibility of being a Contestant by gathering photos either electronically or physically of the people you would like to serve as your Phone-A-Friend.
Note: This is not a guarantee to be on the show. This email serves to make you (the Pool) aware that there is a possibility that you may become a Contestant on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and that you should prepare now in the event you receive a last minute phone call to appear on the show.
If you have already been a contestant on the show, you have received this message in error and we hope all is well!!
Please do not reply to this email. Any questions should be directed to our hotline number at -I removed the phone number-
Clearly it seems to have gone out to everyone in the pool regardless of where they are in the process (pre and post call to appear). It would be interesting if anyone who was in either last year's or any previous year's pools also recieved the email - as well if anyone who is currently waiting for the happy card.
As they say in the email, I think the point might be if they can get conteestents to do the time consuming portion of getting a PAF done in advance, then they might be able to continue with some last minute WE pool members with very little notice to fill schedule holes - so they may call you and ask if you already have your PAF photos in place and if your PAFs can fax a release form. It is interesting that they didn't bother to give the details of what makes a good or unacceptable PAF such as making sure that if there are others in the photo, then can be easily cropped out, no logos either on the persons clothes or visible in the background. One thing happend to one of my friends - they provide in essence a head shot - and about 5 days after I submitted my photo, they called me to say that it was too close and parts of his head were being cut off in their system and asked for something not so close (more like a waist to head shot) - I wonder, especially for WE's who have WE as PAFs that may use their professional head shots will fair in the process - or if, in general they still need to rush around for photo's because they don't know that the photos that they have already are not acceptable.
One last thing (on a related note) I got an email from my handler yesterday afternoon asking me to get the 'job titles' of all my PAFs (and the request for a new photo of my PAF came just this past Monday afternoon) - this coupled with the fact that I HAVEN"T SEEN THE NEW OFFICIAL RULES YET (do I sound stressed about it?) AND HAVE NO IDEA OF ALL THE CHANGES AND I LEAVE AUSTIN IN FOUR DAYS AND THERE IS ONLY 3 MORE MAIL DELIVERY DAYS LEFT (really I'm not that stressed about it, but I really, really would like to know how the game has changed) means that they are trying to get all the changes in place and working, approved, bugs ironed out, etc. prior to the start of the new taping season - and that they are not quite there yet.
