food trivia 2nite

#1 Post by BigDrawMan » Fri Jul 18, 2008 7:11 am

bon jour, enaht

is it hot enough for yins?!?!?!?

we intuit it is!!!!

your food king is a little moist as well.
He went to the club for dinner last nite {(the club being Oakmont Country Club, natch)site of a score[that means 20] of golfs Major championships}, and was enjoying a few gin and tonics on the veranda overlooking #18.Of course one must wear a jacket(to not do so would cause a painful gaucheness you understand) whilst at the OCC irregardless of the heat.Your food king was wearing a smoking jacket(I know what yinzer sayin-food king is smokin in any jacket!!)!!.You would be correct to assume so.Anywho, after giving a fabu putting demonstration, it was time to dine.

food king had some yummy filet that was bloodier that Jerry Quarry, and Virginia spots and wild mushroom ravioli with marinara sauce.

What type of creature is this spot from Virginia?!?!!

expound

As I know several peoples who live in Virginia, several of whom are very dear to me, whilst there are two who could not be less dear to me, and none of them, dear and not dear included, have ever mentioned edible spots, I will have to pass on "today's" Food Trivia 2NITE.

Yes, it is plenty warm here, except when it is lightningstorming, when the temperature and your chances of surviving on a 10,000+-foot ridge drop precipitously. This is acceptable, except to anybody who got hit by lightning (which, fortunately, no one did), because the light show has been accompanied by downpours which have squelched any fires that the lightning might have started.

Hello there, stranger.

is it hot enough for yins?!?!?!?

we intuit it is!!!!

This is about right. I like it hot and steamy out.

your food king is a little moist as well.

eeeeeeeeew. Don't share those kind of details, pwese.

Wait. They allowed you and your ducks into the country club?!? That's very progressive of them. Last time I was in a country club it was unfeathered folks only and certainly no feathered/unfeathered couples. Mixed relationships were distinctly frowned upon. I am surprised!

food king had some yummy filet that was bloodier that Jerry Quarry, and Virginia spots and wild mushroom ravioli with marinara sauce.

What type of creature is this spot from Virginia?!?!!

expound
Spots are some kind of fish. But I have something else to discuss......
You are seriously delinquent in your tending of your "dames", Mr. Food Dood. The girls get a little bored and start making mischief when left to their own devices. The Dood cannot expect to waltz back into the bored whenever it suits him and expect the girls to be waiting. Having a harem is a responsibility. Harems are a sought after commodity. You must remember this. Some day you will find zero responses to your 2Nite postings and you will feel sad and alone. Remember how your long absences must have felt to those in your harem. Remember. As Antoine de St. Exupery wrote in the The Little Prince,

"No," said the little prince. "I am looking for friends. What does that mean--'tame'?"
"It is an act too often neglected," said the fox. "It means to establish ties."
"'To establish ties'?"
"Just that," said the fox. "To me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a
hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you. And you, on your part, have no
need of me. To you, I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you
tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I
shall be unique in all the world . . ."
"I am beginning to understand," said the little prince.
**********
But he came back to his idea.
"My life is very monotonous," the fox said. "I hunt chickens; men hunt me. All the chickens are
just alike, and all the men are just alike. And, in consequence, I am a little bored. But if you tame
me, it will be as if the sun came to shine on my life. I shall know the sound of a step that will be
different from all the others. Other steps send me hurrying back underneath the ground. Yours
will call me, like music, out of my burrow. And then look: you see the grain-fields down yonder?
I do not eat bread. Wheat is of no use to me. The wheat fields have nothing to say to me. And that
is sad. But you have hair that is the color of gold. Think how wonderful that will be when you
have tamed me! The grain, which is also golden, will bring me back the thought of you. And I
shall love to listen to the wind in the wheat . . ."
The fox gazed at the little prince, for a long time."

Now I must go dust off my breastpump and bowling shoes. harumph.

This is it? This is IT? Toc is right, get on with a complete question. Perhaps those "spots" got to your writingal synapses.

I hope you were wearing pants with your jacket, because there is no word beyond gaucheness that would describe the ensemble in that event. Though it might account for the moistness. Especially if you were sitting on leather, which I'm sure you were, because no self-respecting country club would have non-leather chairs, unless they had silk moire chairs, in which case they are going to be SO pissed at you for sitting on them commando.

Spots. Hmmm. Spots. With bloody beef (I'm assuming the filet was beef, because bloody fish ain't too appetizing) and ravioli. What would go with those?

Spots. I know. Recycled warts and moles from the dermatologist's clinic next door to the country club? Did they marinate them first? Batter fry?
Well, then

virginia spots

if one were to google this, one would be disappointed at the results. It seems the va spot is peculiar to western pa.One cant even find a recipe for it, or even what kind of fish it is.
foodking always assumed it was perch, as it is a very mild and teeny white fish.
