5th Grader thread

#1 Post by MarleysGh0st » Mon Jul 07, 2008 12:35 pm

Lest people think I was falling down on my duties during the holiday weekend, I must report that there was a new episode of 5th Grader last Thursday. The first contestant walked with $100K and the second with $50K; at this point there was nothing else worth remembering about them.

They did, of course, require their lifelines to get this far, as when the first contestant copied the answer to this tremendously challenging 3rd Grade Math question:
If Nathan can sharpen 9 pencils in 15 minutes and MacKenzie can sharpen 12 pencils in 20 minutes, how many pencils can the two of them combined sharpen in an hour?
A full transcript of the questions is available on the 5th Grader board.

Next week, last year's 5th Graders--now 6th Graders*--will be returning for some guest appearances. The contestants apparently will be able to ask for help from either class!

*Or then 6th Graders when the show was taped. Now they'd be going into 7th Grade.

I can't believe you still watch this show.

Well, someone had to say it!

And I thank you for doing so! 8)

I'd like to see a competition between last year's and this year's 5th Graders. I'd bet on Nathan, even with the others having an extra year of schooling.
