You are in good company.cindy.wellman wrote:I dunno about that logo.... On the internets, my freaky friends and I would occasionally use the asterisk to represent a butt. Juvenile? Perhaps...

Wasn't this Jeanie's representation of a cat butt back in the day?cindy.wellman wrote:I dunno about that logo.... On the internets, my freaky friends and I would occasionally use the asterisk to represent a butt. Juvenile? Perhaps...

They always have the BTS stuff in the middle of the aisle as you walk in and turn, but they still had all the suntan lotion and whatnot there yesterday.littlebeast13 wrote:Here's Fanny! wrote:I'm such a dork that I even checked out on the opposite side of where I came in just to check out all possible signage. Over each door is a Save Money. Live Better sign with the asterisk/orange seed thing that you describe. And between the two down the front aisle are signs with the same slogan, but have pictures of people in various stages of enjoyment.
No other signs throughout the entire store. Which must be why I never noticed them before. Also, no signs of the BTS sale yet. But it would be pushing it when it was still June.
Our BTS aisle has been getting set all week long, but I don't think the bargains have started yet.
I wonder if you have those stupid asterisk labelled cardboard inserts in your stackbase features like we have. They are a pain in the butt, and I hate trying to build features around them....

As for those stupid asterisk cardboard inserts in the stackbase features:
If I knew what either one of those were, I'd answer the question. Ha!

We had our suntan lotion on an islander (That would be an 8 foot gondola of shelves in the middle of the action alley, which would be one of the main aisles.... damn, we have too much retail jargon to describe stuff!) way in the back of the store between Hardware and Lawn & Garden! For some reason, our store's been in the habit the last couple years of moving the clearance aisle from the back of the store up to the seasonal aisle after Easter and then moving it back for BTS. It's a complete waste of time, but it wouldn't be the Wal if we weren't doing a lot of wasted work....
Stackbases would be those big flat black plastic things in the main aisles that displays of stuff are stacked on. We now have these cardboard thingies that slide under the stacked stuff and stand about 2 feet high with our little asterisk buddy on them.....

I actually understood the gondola and action alley stuff. Ha! That's where they put the BTS stuff, they just move the suntan lotion to parts unknown.littlebeast13 wrote:We had our suntan lotion on an islander (That would be an 8 foot gondola of shelves in the middle of the action alley, which would be one of the main aisles.... damn, we have too much retail jargon to describe stuff!) way in the back of the store between Hardware and Lawn & Garden! The notebooks and the binders they put in the boxes that are stacked vertically on the wall as you walk in where they normally have the featured rollbacks.
So that's what those big flat black plastic thingies are called! I think I would remember if they had cardboard signs hanging off of them, so I don't think they do that here.

I've never set foot in a Starbucks, either, and they recently changed their logo. Who else can I boycott to get to change their logo? Here's Fanny! wrote:People pick the strangest things to be proud of.Thousandaire wrote:Does this mean Walmart is on steroids?
I am proud to say I have never set foot in a Walmart.

I was glad for LB's 'heads up' (hee-hee) prior to my shopping trip today. I would have giggled way too much had I not known of the new logo. Ok, who am I kidding, I giggled way too much every time I saw one. Sam and her friend gave me the usual, "You are SO weird" look.

They had BTS on the cart rail already!?!?!? Geez, that usually doesn't happen until at least mid-July when customers start hauling off the paper and notebooks in the pre-cut cases.....
My Lawn & Garden department (My second home, and you thought I only did the cleaning aisle.... Ha!) is already dwindling down, so I know that Christmas is just around the corner. Oooooohhhhh boy.......

They're not there now. I would have been all excited and detailed my haul had that been the case.littlebeast13 wrote:Here's Fanny! wrote: he notebooks and the binders they put in the boxes that are stacked vertically on the wall as you walk in where they normally have the featured rollbacks.

What I meant was they put all the BTS stuff on the gondola in action alley, but they put the binders and the notebooks on the cart rail.
I love industry lingo! My sister and I still use the terms liner and monkey dish, although it's been years since we were waitresses.

I thought it was something Sprots had dredged up! The new sign looks like a hospital entrance one, actually...littlebeast13 wrote:Just in case Ms. Mai Tai was wondering what the inspiration behind my new avatar was.....

I don't boycott stuff, but I only buy Starbucks when it's the only coffee available. I think the company treats its emplotees very well, but they charge too damned much. And I absolutely, positively REFUSE to use their pretentious Tall Grande Venti designations. I just want the biggest vat of coffee they'll sell me. Large. Coffee. Black. No foofty flavors. Now. Thank you.
One more for the road!
