Early July 4th greetings

#1 Post by fuzzywuzzy » Wed Jul 02, 2008 4:18 pm

Gang...

I will not be back on-line til Monday, July 7, 2008, and I wanted to be sure to wish you all a Happy & Safe July 4th Holiday!

When we celebrated the Bi-centennial in 1976, I was in Philadelphia marching in the National July 4th parade. My High school band represented Massachusetts. It was fun, but, very warm, and very tiring. We had to stand for 3 hours prior to stepping off....We had on new white uniforms. In fact our uniforms were replicas of the Naval uniforms worn on the U.S.S. Constitution.

FYI...The entire John Adams miniseries is playing on HBO on Friday.

Friday evening 11:00 est? (I think) "1776" will be on TCM. One of my favorite movies! fwh and I have seen "1776" live on stage also!

Relax and enjoy!

And a Happy 4th back at ya'! Enjoy your long weekend, and let's keep fingers crossed for at least SOME decent weather. I'm watching the forecast right now and it looks like we'll both be in for some stormy stuff.

Keep Neil Diamond 10/21 in mind, and let me know if you decide to attend. There are several sites online to get tics, as I'm pretty sure the ones through the venue are sold out.

"1776" was the first musical my folks took me to, and remains my favorite. I've loved musicals ever since. We also have the DVD with the restored "Cool, Cool, Considerate Men" number. William Daniels is and always will be John Adams for me. The inside jokes from that when he was in "Boy Meets World" were hilarious.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.
