5-foot snake found outside Long Island home

#1 Post by Bob Juch » Wed Jul 02, 2008 12:23 pm

An agitated 5-foot boa constrictor was found in the shrubbery outside a Long Island home.

Along with an even more agitated 5-foot, 4-inch homeowner.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I'm sure the snake was in fine humor until someone tried to capture it.

This is news? The only reason it is on the website is because they have pictures.

There are half a million pet snakes in the U.S., mostly constrictors. Sometimes they get outside.

Not news.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Why is this news? AJ said it!

We only had Cleo's brother Disco for 4 days when someone neglected to weight down the top of his house & he was GONE without a trace when we got home.

He may have gotten outside. He may have gone down the furnace vent & then on to Snake-Heaven. He may even be still living in our walls, getting fat on any bold mousies that try to get in (probably not; its been about 7 years!) The snake-rescue guy we consulted said one of his clients did recover a lost pet snake from his walls after a solid year -- alive & well & fat! LOL

But the his most likely fate was becoming cat food -- the cats hung around the door to that room for weeks afterwards! Probably hoping for another treat! Although we never found any physical evidence of kitty-on-snake violence, so we'll probably never know.

It's a mystery. It's kind of sad. It was $60 down the drain. But news, it ain't!

To be clear, I completely understood the relevance of you posting the item. My beef is with the "news" organization that thought this was worthy of putting on their website.
