We have a new town clerk. She does not know what is needed to get a marriage license. MA law says one person can get a license on their own if the other is in the military. The clerk does not know what information is needed from the military person. She has told us three different things in three separate phone calls. We are all confused. I interpret the law as saying that you need only name, SSN and residence, and the person providing the information officially swearing that the information is true. So basically, you don't need anything from the military person. I will hand the printout of the state law to BD, who will bring it to the town clerk and (I hope) obtain the license.
The cats last night thoroughly enjoyed having the ribbons dangling from the balloons and from the faux bouquet around the first floor. I awoke to discover several items on the floor which were on tables and chairs when we went upstairs for bed. I think a little aversion therapy is in order, in the form of showing the felines the balloons, then popping them in front of their faces.
We are worn out. I think we'll do some cleanup from the party tonight, then maybe some semi-serious drinking. Semi-serious = wine, sparkling wine, or equivalent. Serious = single malt scotch, mixed drinks or scotch liqueur. A real day off would be nice, one with nothing to do and nothing hanging over our heads needing to be done. Not gonna happen any time soon.
But to put this all in perspective, as I write this, my BIL's wife should be in the operating room to remove the ovarian cancer recently discovered. Get it all, doc. Be well, Sue.
