Designer of Sesame Street characters: Big Bird, Snuffle-upagus, and Oscar the Grouch.

Had a long career in theatre design before Jim Henson hired him.

91 years old.

It's nice that they named the other Kermit after him.

I guess you're right. I found his obituary, where it says that Kermit the Frog already had his name. Still, sometimes coincidence is stranger than intent.

If I ever get a little brother, I might name him Kermit the Dog. He would be named after Mr. Love, not the green guy.
