Surprise!

#1 Post by SportsFan68 » Tue Jun 24, 2008 10:09 pm

Sprots and Jai are reporting from beautiful downtown Gunnison, CO!

OK, we're not downtown -- we're at the KOA in Jai and MrJai's beautiful and supercomfy big rig. OK, not so big, but it's really comfy.

We met up for dinner and adventures ... well, maybe a little short on the adventures, except for when MrJai spilled the 12 year old Scotch and set off the smoke alarm... Don't worry, Tribe, it was Glenlivet, not Lafrigerator...

Ricky, Angie, and Mew are gorgeous and sweet people in year round fur coats.

And, I think we've just about solved all the problems of the Western World!

Yeppers, Sprots and me, raisin' cain in Colorado. And she forgot to mention Casey, her pretty little fur person. We just went out to eat Italian food. Tomorrow Mr Jai is making flapjacks for breakfast. I shall probably sleep in. :)

That was some smoky Scotch!

Squirrels are the architects of forests, the planters of trees, nature's own acrobats and show a zest for life that can inspire us. Every day should be National Squirrel Appreciation Day!

Many of these (squirrel) migrations were probably caused by food shortages as well as habitat overcrowding. We solved that for them. We not only reduced their habitat, we reduced the whole species by about 90%. The least we can do now is share a little birdseed with them.

It was fun. We picked a Veep for Sen. Obama . . . now whether he chooses to pay any attention to US is another, different issue.

Sorry, ES. He was about 40 miles on down the road in a less developed campground. The KOA was gorgeous, and to achieve that gorgeousness, they've made a few changes -- the lawns are like fairways, there aren't any 60-foot pine trees, and the welcome mat is out with a smile for doggies, not for squirrels, skunks, raccoons, or other live-off-the-land types like your pal.

Ricky and Angie, not to mention Mewe, would have loved to make his acquaintance, and yours too! They would have had you over for dinner!

MrJai has the reflexes of a cat, due no doubt to living with them ever since he married Jai, and saved almost all of it. He estimated about a cup hit the carpet.

Uh..... Sorry, pardner, nobody nominated you to anything ...

So much for nature! How can you have camping without squirrels, skunks and raccoons? Sounds like I have another letter to write to my lobbyist at the NSAS....

I'm sure I would have enojoyed the company of all those four footers. Everytime I see Ricky's picture in Jai's avatar, I always throw an acorn at the screen. LB doesn't have a clue where all those nicks are coming from on his monitor....

There is a certain charm to having your camp raided by raccoons -- they came by four or five years ago and shredded the aluminum foil we had cooked the evening's trout in, along with butter. No almonds, though. :D

Except then we had to clean up aluminum foil shreds. :(

Ricky is a doll. If you harnessed that energy, you could power the Empire State Building.
