More Tornadoes

#1 Post by Appa23 » Wed Jun 11, 2008 8:19 pm

Sirens have been wailing off and on since about 7 pm.

While there were no fatalities on Sunday morning, we were not so lucky tonight.

I am afraid that my boss was up at the Little Sioux Boy Scout camp. He is a big muckety-muck with the Boy Scouts, and he was telling me that he had been at the camp during the past weekend, when the storms hit. He was at work on Monday, as we were moving back into our renovated building, and he attended a meeting early yesterday, but then he left on leave for the week.

:(

I am watching a report on the Boy Scout camp now. I am so, so sorry for everyone affected by this tragedy.

This is such a tragedy. Our local news just had a breaking news flash.

Prayers are going out for all concerned.

Thanks for the thoughts, SC & Hermillion.

I need to check to see if they have released the names of the boys who did not survive the direct hit.

I saw that the son of a guy that I knew from law school was there at the camp.

Looks like we picked a heck of time to decide to move to Iowa. Tornadoes in the northwest; flooding in the northeast. This is going to be very interesting.

Just buy a concrete and steel house with no basement and watertight doors and windows.
