I'm like JB...whatever happened to diesel being the lower priced fuel?
My car holds 26 gallons, so I never let it go below half so I won't have to take out a loan to pay for the fuel.

As of last Friday, I paid $4.52 for low sulfur diesel. I haven't even looked at the prices today to see how much it's gone up.

I saw diesel going for as much as $4.97 today...but that place was on the pricey side. They were selling regular for $4.16 and premium for $4.49. Most places around here are $3.99 or just over $4 for regular and premium has been holding around $4.20.

Last year, I hit a milestone fillup price - Passed $75 for a single fillup - which was the exact amount that I paid for my very first car. Today I paid $140 - getting very close to twice that original car purchase price.

We really haven't done much different since we both work fairly close to home and I've always tried to economize as much as possible. We still have a vacation trip planned at the end of the summer. The only real difference is that we don't just go out on a weekend for the sake of driving around as we occasionally did before. If we don't visit the children, we tend to stay fairly close to home (living in a big city, you don't have to go too far to have things to do).

I'll probably notice the differece more in football season. I used to go to a road game or two every year but I don't think I'll be doing much of that this time around.

No little side trips to the grocery--if we're out, eat something else! But I started that after the painful tax payments in April, when the bank account dropped 75% in a week, so the kids stopped bitching a while ago. And I can see the back wall of the pantry, so bonus.

We've already gotten our plane tickets for our summer trips, so they can't gouge us retroactively! Yee hawww!

Well, we're officially too big to fit in any of the WDW resorts now that Erin is 3 and out of a crib, so we have to stay off-property this year. That's different.

And Erin said, "I go Hawai'i. Daddy take me there." So we go Hawai'i. Daddy take us there. I feel sorry for any 16 year old boy without a platinum card who wants to date my daughter....

Her aunt got her a stuffed ride-on pony, with sound effects. She also wants to join us in WDW so she can take Erin to a Princess Breakfast.

There will be no spoiling of children so long as I'm around. Get that young lady's nose in a book while I remove the evil pony and whack her aunt with my ruler....

Do what we did a few years ago and buy into the Disney Vacation Club! We have seven in the family and we fit easily into the two-bedrooom villas. We bought enough points to stay one week a year in a two bedroom at our home resort (Saratoga Springs); however, we probably won't go next year since we are planning on taking the kids to Paris in 2010 and in order for us to stay at DLP we'll have to use 2009, 2010 and 2011 points!!

Considering how mini's family are such huge Disney fans, I'm surprised they haven't done this already!

What off-site hotels can handle your crowd in one room, anyway, mini?

Mini's clan is one less than the Beast clan was, and many low budget, fleabags were able to accomodate the 7 of us for a day or two on those rare family trips we made back in the day, though we usually had to get 2 rooms. The motel we stayed in 4 times in the 80's in Paducah is still there and manageed to survive.... I saw it myself earlier this year....

Of course, I'm sure they were always glad to see us go, though....

We couldn't get a two-bedroom at The Boardwalk for when we wanted to go, and Key West and Saratoga are so far out in East Jesus, you may as well be off-property. So we found a new resort and we get a three-bedroom condo with washer-dryer and free breakfast a mile away from Epcot for $169 a night. Plus shuttle service to the parks. If it's as good as the reviews say, we'll pass it on.

When the Vacation Club opened, we only had two kids. We considered the annual fees and the fact we'd have to buy more points as our family expanded, plus the fact everything would disappear in 44 years, and took the money we would have spent and built the beach house that we could own forever and pass down to the kids.

I don't remember where my husband stayed when he took Rain Man to DLP, but I think it was in Paris and not on-site. We'll all go together eventually, but Erin is still so tiny for a trans-Atlantic flight. We're breaking up the Hawai'i flight with a night in Phoenix.

I've stayed at all three (Saratoga, OKW, and Boardwalk) and Boardwalk was definitely my favorite. The location alone makes it more desirable. Also, I like the theme better than the other two. One of these days, I'll stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, and the Yacht and Beach Club. We considered that we would have it only for 49 years, but in the end thought that it was a good enough deal to forward with it.

As of this morning, there is still a gas station near me charging $3.95/gallon for regular. It was charging $3.89 on Saturday, and I filled up both vehicles. A HUGE run was made on that station- it ran out of regular unleaded in about 3-1/2 hours.

Anyhow, I have not paid more than $3.95/gallon yet.

Found the paperwork--it's called World Quest Resort. It's a three-bedroom condo. It's easier to handle heat and crowds if you're not stacked on top of each other!

That's quite a deal, compared to what Disney charges for a single room!
