~!@#$%^&* North Carolina

#1 Post by wintergreen48 » Fri Jun 06, 2008 3:05 pm

It's not enough that they come here and take our banks and our security firms and try to take our grocery stores, now they are taking our air.

God's Country (central Virginia) is 80 miles away from that cesspool of depravity down south, but they are now fouling our air with their smoke: apparently they have gotten it into their heads to burn down their forests, and the smoke from their fires have drifted north. On the positive side, the dirt in the air is actually helping to keep the temperature down slightly (much appreciated when I was mowing the lawn a little while ago), but on the negative side, our pristine air is now befouled by North Carolinan foulness.

Feh!

Of course my son loves it--"Something's burning! Can I go see!?"

Unfortunately, that soil is full of peat, so it'll burn for a long time, and stink.

I don't consider it God's Country, or at least not today. Satan took control of the thermostat. It's a scorcher!

Those ferns aren't dead! They're just in deep REM sleep.

I tried to wake them up, but alas....

It's been beautiful here in Southern California lately. It hasn't been too hot or too cold.
