Transcript 5/14/2008

Carryover contestant
David Williamson
Anchorage, AK

High School Teacher

$16000
What university's sports teams are called "the Judges" in honor of the Supreme Court justice for whom the school is named?

A: Brandeis
B: Stanford
C: Vanderbilt
D: Baylor

David uses the process of elimination by naming all the teams names. He also conducted the play "Annie" and knows there is a Judge Brandeis in it.

$25000
Though only the first one usually gets sung, "The Star-Spangled Banner" actually consists of how many verses?

A: Three
B: Four
C: Five
D: Six

David is a music teacher and had a group of students go to the Democratic Convention in 1988. He heard every verse sung
with a key modulation between every verse & it was atrocious,
He won't name the artist. He's not sure how many verses.

He decides to call Pam, a history teacher at West Anchorage High School. Pam thinks it's three, but she's not sure.
David said listening to that vocalist sing, it seemed a lot longer than that!

50/50 leaves:

A: Three
B: Four

David is almost certain he knows the answer. He' thinking he has everything and really doesn't need an additional $9,000 so
he decides to leave with $16000, Final Answer. He holds up 4 fingers as he gets ready to leave the hot seat.

Answers:
$16000 A - Brandeis
$25000 B - Four

In an effort to be as polite as possible it seems rather weak of the cast member to finish that way.

Maybe he can have them reattached when he gets back home...

Dream stack so far. I'd be playing for $50K with all of my lifelines.

Brandeis was from Louisville and the law school at the University of Louisville bears his name.

I couldn't remember whether it was four or five, so I'd have used 50/50 and gone with B when the results were revealed. I wouldn't expect the audience to know this one.

The Anchorage Daily News finally gave David's run a short news blurb...nearly two weeks after it happened.
