In the wake of the California Supreme Court decision legalizing gay marriage, actor George Takei, 71, has announced he plans to marry his companion of the last 21 years, Eric Altman. Takei came out of the closet a few years ago.

Expect to see some other celebrity gay and lesbian marriages in the near future as well.

Ellen Degeneres announced last week that she and Portia de Rossi were getting married. Well, she said "I'm getting married". I'm assuming that it is to Portia.

I would imagine that his marriage will last longer than the Ashley Simpson and Peter Wentz marriage.

Well, it probably will.

However, I give Ashlee and Pete a good shot at making it longer than six months. :)
