The Pitt on HBO Max

#1 Post by Vandal » Tue Apr 14, 2026 10:58 am

I heard great things about this show when it arrived in early 2025 (lots of Emmy wins, too), but we don’t have MAX, so no go. A few weeks ago I searched for it and it was available through TNT with commercials. Not ideal, but I gave it a shot and I’m glad I did.

This was quite possibly the best Season 1 of any series I’ve ever seen. It all takes place in one day at the Pittsburgh trauma center. Many of the residents are working their first day and they are all thrown into the fray. Noah Wyle plays Dr. Robby, the attending physician who oversees all aspects of the center There is a mix of interns, residents, nurses, patients, police and other characters all blending together from scene to scene.

I won’t spoil anything, but it’s amazing how fleshed out many of the characters are just from quick interactions with other medical folks.

The only downside is that TNT tend to load up the same commercials over and over. Fortunately, they are worth the wait

I've been watching it since it began on MAX. The last show of the second season is on Thursday. It's been renewed.

It is spectacular. It is also the most realistic hospital drama ever. My wife, a retired paramedic, had to stop watching it because it was giving her PTSD flashbacks.

On the downside, there were zero shower scenes and no sex in the supply closets, like other medical dramas.

LOVE this show. I had MAX for free for a bit, so I binged Season one. Got halfway through season 2 before my free subscription ran out. I may have to splurge on a paid month to binge that season. 😝
