#6. "Dangerous" - Big Data, ft. Joywave (2013)
It is very rare for me to insta-like a song, particularly from the Mecca CD's that had such an eclectic mix of indie and obscure songs that it took many listens to appreciate how much I enjoyed the songs. I fell in love with this song from practically the first time I heard that opening. And this one has lived on to still be an earworm I can hear at work now!
#5. "Love Is Alive" - Joan Osborne (2000)
There have been a number of cover songs in this countdown, but none can top this one! I consider it my second favorite cover version of any song next to only the Pseudo Echo version of "Funky Town." As much as I love the Gary Wright original, Joan Osborne, whose biggest hit "One of Us" is not exactly a fave of mine, absolutely crushed this song and made it her own. Listen to it and hear for yourself. This was another earworm from the rather interesting mid-2000's era of Mecca Radio...
