I watched a part of this today when it was replayed. I had a question that Skoop might know the answer to. The game was in Philadelphia, but the opponents were the "Texas Tailgaters" (some of them wore cowboy hats in the field and they did a line dance when they scored their first run).

How do they get these opposing teams for the Bananas? They're not like the Washington Generals who traveled permanently with the Harlem Globetrotters to be their foils. Do they hold tryouts in each city the Bananas go to? Do they just change uniforms and become the "Party Animals" in the next city they go to? t's not just a matter of getting a bunch of former college and high school players in a big city because they have to learn enough of the "bananaball" routines to hold up their end of the game. Do these visiting teams have their own "league"? These Tailgaters must have put in a lot of work if it was just for one game.

According to Wikipedia the Bananas travel with three teams instead of one like the Globetrotters. They are the Party Animals, the Firefighters, and the Texas Tailgaters.

Also, their games are more competitive, and the Bananas do not always win.

Yeah, I haven't dug in to the facts, but I would not be surprised if many of the rosters of the travel teams are some of the same players.

A fun tidbit:
