I became aware of a movie called "The Shoes of the Fisherman" starring Anthon Quinn and David Janssen and some big names like Olivier in minor roles.
Holy crap-I love Janssen's voice-probably because he was the narrator in Michener's Centennial miniseries so I am conditioned to it-I am simply going to have to find some more movies that he was in.

Janssen didn't do much film work. His best known role is in The Green Berets. He had a rare starring role in Macho Callahan, a good dark Western. His TV series, Harry O, is quite good (he plays a weather-beaten private detective and also narrates). And there's also a TV movie, Birds of Prey, in which he's a TV helicopter traffic pilot who winds up chasing some escaping bank robbers in another helicopter. The flight sequences in that movie were quite good.

We old-timers remember Janssen for:

That show also had a fine narrator, William Conrad.

Centennial had 2 great things-Robert Conrad as Pasquinel and Janssen as the narrator and Paul Garrett.
Our family loves Centennial-but it simply would not be the same without Janssen.
