I happened to find out about HarvSilk (aka hbomb) being on Jeopardy by watching David Muir on the news. Saw his blurb at the end of last Monday's broadcast.
Immediately, I was like
HOLY FUCKING SHIT !!!!!
My kids know all about the Bored. I let everyone know about ULY being on The Floor and my youngest (twin) son took an interest.
He and his buddies watch J! almost daily. I hadn't watched HarvSilk's first show but immediately turned on J! and saw that he was in the carryover winner's seat.
I texted my son and told him that Harvey was a BoredBuddy !!! He was with his friends and watched both games.
Later in the week, I was talking to my son about what Harvey had done. He told me that his friends were impressed, not only with Harvey, but that I know him and all of these other people who I have met through WWTBAM and have been on various game shows.
The friends asked my son:
"How the fuck does your dad know these people"
He told them about the Bored, and they responded"
"What the fuck is that?"
His answer:
"It's basically what reddit has become."
I never thought of it that way, but I guess it is.
Once a BoredBuddy, always a BoredBuddy. I miss the old days. I miss all of you.
:::: tear running down my face::::
And so, I'm taping my watch, waiting for everyone to sign up for the BoredBuddy March Madness fun.
LET'S FUCKING DO THIS !!!

Yeah, it's been a long, long time since we've had the opportunity to celebrate a BB like this.
I saw Harvey's post on Facebook, so I knew his appearance was coming. And, damn, his performance on Monday was impressive! But then David Muir promoted that story at the start of the news on Tuesday and I thought, wow, this is big!
I'm only sorry that, with all of that media attention to deal with, Harv didn't have the opportunity to log in under the ReigningJeopardyChamp handle while he could.
I'm glad you got to impress your son and his friends with this ancient lore, Ace.

He had the opportunity. He simply chose not to. —BobMarleysGh0st wrote: ↑Mon Mar 17, 2025 9:19 amYeah, it's been a long, long time since we've had the opportunity to celebrate a BB like this.
