Blake Lively has sued actor Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment based on the time they spent working together on the film It Ends with Us. Baldoni directed the movie and co-starred as Lively's boyfriend who gradually became more abusive over the course of the relationship. The lawsuit mentions an on-set meeting during the course of production, attended by Lively's husband Ryan Reynolds and others, in which Baldoni agreed to not add sex scenes that weren't in the original script or make sexual references around Lively or comments about her weight. The suit alleges that Baldoni has since tried to destroy Lively's reputation. Baldoni's lawyers say that the problems were caused by Lively and that the lawsuit is an effort by her to win public opinion.

LOS ANGELES — More than 100 women have filed a new lawsuit against obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Barry J. Brock and the facilities where he worked, claiming that Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and other medical practices knowingly concealed his alleged sexual abuses and medical misconduct.

The 107 new plaintiffs join 60 other former patients who have accused Brock in lawsuits last year of inappropriate and medically unjustifiable behavior that at times resulted in lasting physical complications.

Hall of Fame pitcher Mariano Rivera and his wife have been accused of covering up the sexual abuse of a child that occurred at a summer camp affiliated with their church and in their home. Neither of the Riveras are accused of child sex abuse. However, the lawsuit alleges that the plaintiff, a minor Jane Doe was abused by an older minor at a summer internship program at the Ignite Life Center affiliated with their church. Rather than take steps to end the abuse, the Riveras instead isolated and intimidated Jane Doe so she would remain silent and protect the integrity of the program. Rivera had paid Jane Doe's expenses so she could take part in the program.

Author Neil Gaiman sued by former nanny for violent sexual abuse and rape

https://www.nydailynews.com/2025/02/03/ ... -and-rape/

Fantasy writer Neil Gaiman and his estranged wife were sued in a set of federal cases filed in New York, Wisconsin, and Massachusetts on Monday, alleging the bestselling author violently raped and sexually abused the former nanny of his child.

The suits brought by Scarlett Pavlovich come after Gaiman, 64, was recently accused in a New York Magazine cover story of sexually assaulting, abusing, and forcing at least eight women into sex while at the height of his success.

Gaiman is accused of multiple instances of depraved sexual violence in the Wisconsin suit, including assaulting the former minder of his child near Auckland, New Zealand, where she worked for him and his wife until she was injured and unconscious. It alleges the attacks were committed with such regularity that Gaiman’s child became aware of them and began calling the nanny “slave.”

In graphic detail, Pavlovich alleges the abuse occurred as recently as February 2022, when the suit describes the author as violently forcing anal sex on her “while smearing her with truffle oil,” and, on another occasion, butter and ordering her to “clean him up.”

The New York and Massachusetts suits, which only name Gaiman’s estranged wife, artist and author Amanda Palmer, as a defendant, alleges Palmer was aware of her husband’s “need to humiliate his female sexual partners — with or without their consent.”

The Manhattan suit lists human trafficking, conspiracy to commit human trafficking, negligence, and related offenses as causes of action. The Wisconsin and Massachusetts suits list the same claims, and assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of extreme emotional distress against Gaiman.

Lawyers for Pavlovich declined to comment. Efforts to reach Gaiman and Palmer were unsuccessful.

In a statement posted on his website last month, Gaiman said there were things he “could have and should have done so much better,” but that he had “never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone.”

Seven more accuse Ravens' Justin Tucker of sexual misconduct

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Seven more women have accused Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker of engaging in sexually inappropriate misconduct at high-end spas, the Baltimore Banner reported Sunday.

This increases the total to 16 therapists from eight spas to make allegations of inappropriate behavior by Tucker. All of the incidents reportedly occurred during sessions from 2012 to 2016, which were Tucker's first five seasons in the NFL.

In the latest allegations, one woman told the Banner that Tucker left what she believed to be ejaculate on the table and another said he made intense eye contact throughout the massage while exposed.

Actor Guy Pearce, who has been nominated for an Oscar for his role in The Brutalist, says that Kevin Spacey targeted him when the two worked on LA Confidential in 1997. (Spacey has denied the charges.)
An emotional and reflective Guy Pearce got choked up during a new interview while recalling unpleasant experiences working with Kevin Spacey on Curtis Hanson’s classic 1997 film L.A. Confidential, and the “wake-up call” that left him sobbing in London more than 20 years later when he realized the impact those encounters had on him.

He talked about it only briefly when he called Spacey “a handsy guy” to Australian talk show host Andrew Denton in 2018, though he quickly clarified his comments. “I very much understand that it’s too sensitive a topic to be brushed off. Although I wasn’t sexually assaulted or molested, I was made to feel uncomfortable,” he said in a follow-up statement. “I addressed and handled the situation when it took place, hence my regret at making it public now.” Pearce is far more open today, but still choosing his words carefully. Pearce noted how he was reluctant to use the word victim “even though I probably was a victim to a degree; I was certainly not a victim by any means to the extent that other people have been to sexual predators.”

That said, Pearce responded to Spacey’s alleged advances on the set of L.A. Confidential by brushing it off and thinking, “Ah, that’s nothing. Ah, no, that’s nothing,” he said. “I did that for five months, and really I was sort of scared of Kevin because he’s quite an aggressive man. He’s extremely charming and brilliant at what he does — really impressive, etc. He holds a room remarkably. But I was young and susceptible, and he targeted me, no question.” Hanson’s neo-noir L.A. Confidential follows three Los Angeles policemen as they investigate a series of murders amid departmental corruption in the 1950s. Pearce played one of the cops, Ed Exley, opposite fellow leads Spacey and Russell Crowe. While he remains on good terms with fellow Aussie Crowe, “a great mate of mine,” the same can’t be said of Spacey. While filming on location in Los Angeles, Pearce was in town with his then-wife, Kate. He recalled telling her that “the only days I feel safe are the days when [Simon Baker] is on set because I’m dumped like a hot potato, and [Kevin] focuses on [Simon] because he was 10 times prettier than I am.”

Pearce said he caught the headlines [about Spacey]. “I was in London working on something, and I heard [the reports] and I broke down and sobbed, and I couldn’t stop. I think it really dawned on me the impact that had occurred and how I sort of brushed it off and how I had either shelved it or blocked it out or whatever. That was a really incredible wake-up call,” he explained, his voice breaking with emotion at one point. Though he didn’t specify the date or the details of what occurred, Pearce noted that he has since “had a couple of confrontations with Kevin” that “got ugly.” Looking back on the talk show reveal, Pearce said he found himself in the “weird position” of not wanting to focus on his personal experience with Spacey and yet, “I don’t want him to get away with what he gets away with.”

GOP calls for Sen. Justin Eichorn to resign after arrest for allegedly soliciting teen for sex

Minnesota state Sen. Justin Eichorn allegedly arranged to meet someone in Bloomington he thought was a teenage girl for sex and instead was arrested by police, officials announced Tuesday.

In the wake of Eichorn’s arrest Monday, the Senate Republican Caucus said in a statement, “We are shocked by these reports, and this alleged conduct demands an immediate resignation. Justin has a difficult road ahead, and he needs to focus on his family.”

Over in the House, Speaker Lisa Demuth, R-Cold Spring, and Leader Harry Niska, R-Ramsey, said in a joint statement: “Given the seriousness of the charges, Senator Eichorn should resign. While he is entitled to due process, we must hold legislators to a higher standard.”

Eichorn, R-Grand Rapids, remains jailed Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of soliciting a minor for sex. Charges against him are pending.

Filmmaker Paul Schrader, the screenwriter behind “Taxi Driver” and “Raging Bull,” has been accused of sexually assaulting his much younger assistant and, after firing her in the fall, reneging on a settlement.

According to documents filed in New York County Supreme Court, the 26-year-old assistant, identified only as Jane Doe, is suing Schrader and his production company for alleged breach of contract, and is asking a judge to enforce the agreement.

Doe claims the settlement was intended to keep confidential her accusations against the 78-year-old Oscar nominee. She says they agreed to an undisclosed monetary amount on Feb. 5, but that Schrader backed out of the deal late last month.

According to Doe, she worked as a personal assistant for the writer and director from May 2021 until her termination in September. During those three and a half years, Schrader “used his position of power over Ms. Doe (who is 52 years younger than him)” to sexually harass and assault her on multiple occasions, court documents allege.

In one such instance last May, Doe claims Schrader trapped her in his hotel room during the Cannes Film Festival, “forcibly grabbing her and kissing her, despite her protests.” She was eventually able to free herself from his grasp and flee the room, Doe says.

Three days later, Schrader allegedly lured her back to his hotel room under the guise of needing help packing his bags, then proceeded to expose himself from beneath a bathrobe.

Throughout their working relationship, Doe was also subjected to “near-constant inappropriate sexual questions and lewd and misogynistic commentary,” according to the filing. Among those alleged remarks, Schrader repeatedly professed his “desire to touch” her, both verbally and in writing, while seeming to admit she was clearly uncomfortable.

In a May 2023 email, quoted in the documents, Schrader allegedly wrote, “I sense you are uncomfortable with my affection for you.” Another email from a year later purportedly read, “I sense you recoil every time I have the impulse to touch you.”

After repeatedly rejecting Schrader’s advances, Doe claims she was fired out of retaliation in September. Two days later, he allegedly emailed her to acknowledge his predatory behavior.

“So I f—ed up. Big time,” Schrader wrote, per the filing. “If I have become a Harvey Weinstein in your mind, then of course you have no choice but to put me in the rear view mirror.”

Following months of negotiations, Doe claims he eventually agreed to her terms for a confidential settlement. But by late March, Schrader “unequivocally stated that he would not perform his obligations under the settlement agreement” and refused to sign the paperwork she sent to him.

Schrader’s lawyers deny that he “ever made an attempt to have a sexual relationship of any kind with his former assistant,” calling the lawsuit “desperate, opportunistic and frivolous.” They also said the settlement cannot be enforced since Schrader never signed the documents.

“The agreement that they’re trying to enforce against Mr. Schrader, in plain English, required both parties to sign it before it became legally effective,” said New York attorney Philip J. Kessler. “Mr. Schrader declined to sign it. It’s frankly as simple as that.”

Singer Smokey Robinson, who is 85, has been sued by four women who worked for him as housekeepers at different times from 2007 to 2024. The women allege Robinson repeatedly raped them and forcibly touched their entire bodies. The women said they repeatedly told Robinson not to do it and that they weren't interested in his advances. Robinson's wife is also a named defendant for not preventing the abuse even though she knew about it.

Former Los Angeles Laker player and coach Byron Scott, who won three NBA titles as part of the Showtime Lakers of the 1980s, has been sued by a woman who alleges he sexually assaulted her at a team event at her high school in 1987 when Scott was 27 and the woman was 15. The suit was filed originally in 2022 and listed Scott as a "John Doe" dependant, but it has recently been amended to add his name to the complaint. Scott admits to the contact with the woman but says the relationship was consensual and that he thought the woman was of legal age. (I don't think that's a valid defense, even in a civil suit.) The woman also named her high school as a defendant, claiming they failed to protect her.
