I just saw this thread (I really need to visit more often). I’ve only ever self published my four novels. I think I only ever submitted them to two or three agents and one publisher. But I know a lot of authors in my writing critique group who published with small indie publishers, and my self published books seem to outsell theirs. But I’ve found a niche market for my books.
