One of the confluences in eastern Indiana is about 20 miles from my parent's farm. My mom grew up about 5 miles from that exact spot. I sort of vaguely know the hog farmers who live there. My dad and uncles would know them very well.

This is very interesting project.

Hmm, I grew up two miles away from one of the confluences in Maryland. On the other hand, in Virginia I live about as far away from a confluence as it is possible to be-- based upon the map, I seem to be in the absolute dead center between four confluences, equidistant each of them.

Interesting! It would appear that one of our camps while on safari in Botswana will be only about 20 miles from an as yet undocumented confluence in Northern Botswana (19S, 23 E). Of course with no roads to speak of and on the edge of the Okavanga Delta it may be that it could just as well be 2000 miles away if there is no way to get there. But perhaps I will see if I can make it happen.

I have 2 fishing trips planned to Canada this summer. NW Ontario and Northern Manitoba.

There appear to be a lot of unbagged confluences in those areas. I will have to figure out if any of them are reachable.
