Happy Birthday President Jimmy Carter

#1 Post by BackInTex » Tue Oct 01, 2024 7:10 am

Former Democrat President Jimmy Carter turns 100 years old on Tuesday, earning himself the distinction of being the first president to ever live for an entire century.

Clean living. Truly nice guy.
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.
~~ Thomas Jefferson

War is where the government tells you who the bad guy is.
Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.

Great American. Great Humanitarian. Great Human Being. Lousy President. It is to his credit that he lacked the cut throat nature that all successful Presidents have to some degree or other.

I thought he did a good job as President and voted for a second term. None of my co-workers agreed, nor did the rest of the country.

What I like best is his amazing legacy of Shuttle Diplomacy following his Presidency. He saw what needed to be done, saw that he was the right person to do it, and did it.

Thinking of you with great respect and admiration, Mr. President -- Happy Birthday.

-- America would be a better place if leaders would do more long-term thinking. -- Wilma Mankiller
