Galveston
This weekend my wife and I went to Galveston for the wedding of some friends we introduced three years ago. The wedding was on the beach at sunrise Sunday, and it was beautiful.
I have lived in Texas for 20 years, and this was the first time I have been to Galveston. It will not be the last.

Re: Galveston
Where abouts in Texas do you live? 20 years to see Galveston would indicate you haven't seem some of Texas' real gems. Of course sunrise almost anywhere will get the juices going.elwoodblues wrote:This weekend my wife and I went to Galveston for the wedding of some friends we introduced three years ago. I've lived in Texas 39 1/2 years and have yet to go to the Davis Mountains and just 3 years ago went to Big Bend for the first time.

I saw this thread title and immediately heard Glen Campbell singing...
Galveston, oh Galveston, I still hear your sea winds blowin'
I still see her dark eyes glowin'
She was 21 when I left Galveston
Galveston, oh Galveston, I still hear your sea waves crashing
While I watch the cannons flashing
I clean my gun and dream of Galveston
I still see her standing by the water
Standing there lookin' out to sea
And is she waiting there for me?
On the beach where we used to run
Galveston, oh Galveston, I am so afraid of dying
Before I dry the tears she's crying
Before I watch your sea birds flying in the sun
At Galveston, at Galveston
Galveston, oh Galveston, I still hear your sea winds blowin'
I still see her dark eyes glowin'
She was 21 when I left Galveston

While I watch the cannons flashing
